Chartwell New Edinburgh Square Retirement Residence

As a 41 year old male, I am not the typical resident for NES.; during the latter part of 2021, some health issues required me to have respite care and I was very fortunate to have found this place.While my stay coinciding with the Omicron wave and as a result there were a lot of necessary restrictions, I thoroughly enjoyed my stay there. This really comes down how great all the staff and people leaders are at NES. The staff are really the soul of this place, and they took care of me with kindness, generosity, empathy and warm. I never lacked for anything and always felt that everyone I interacted with had my best intension and comfort as their priority and they provided every act of service with great warmth and always a smile. I do not think we can ask for more, specially given that the restrictions in place usually meant everyone was working twice as hard to keep everyone safe and happy.A final note on the location itself, the resident itself is charming [and full of very lovely and charming residences, some of whom it was a pleasure to get to know better], modern and well taken care of and it sites at the heart of one of the coziest communities in Ottawa with ease of access to most essentials.This is a very special place and I am really thankful to all the staff and management for the care I received during my stay.

My parents lived at Chartwell New Edinburgh Square for over a decade. It is a classy and well-run retirement residence. The housekeeping services were very good so their suite was always clean and fresh. Meals are well prepared and tasty. The highest praise, however, goes to the amazing staff. From the front desk staff, the nursing staff, the maintenance engineers to the Health and Wellness Manager and the General Manager, the staff here truly care about the residents and do their utmost to make their lives as productive and comfortable as possible. As of this writing this retirement residence had zero COVID-19 cases, which is a testament to effective policies and implementation. The main floor of the building has recently been renovated and is modern and bright. Give it some serious consideration if you are thinking of assisted living.

My mother is resident of Chartwell New Edinburgh Square. I am most grateful for the diligent care she and the other residents have been receiving throughout the pandemic. It has given me an incredible peace of mind. Thank you from the bottom of my heart to the general manager and all his managers and staff for doing such an outstanding job under such difficult circumstances.

Had a really great experience here while going to see my grandma! Staff were exceptionally friendly, and I felt at home. It’s comforting to know that even in the midst of a pandemic the people here treat residents with respect. Will happily visit again!

I'm writing on behalf of my mother-in-law, who moved into the residence early in the new year. She is happy with the suite and feels safe and secure. The staff is very courteous and competent, and quite proactive at anticipating her needs. The food is excellent with many choices

This is our fifth year as residents at NES.We are fortunate and delighted to be here-NES offersand provides everything we wanted in a Retirement Home.From the very outset we knew we had made the right decision.

This is an exceptional retirement residence in every way. The facilities are sparkling clean and safe, with tons of spaces for residents to explore and relax, and lots of activities. The staff are so caring and attentive. Great central location too, with lots of walking and shopping opportunities in Beechwood Village.

We work with the Chartwell NES in a partner capacity. Truly involved in the community, they are always available to help the Beechwood Market with promotion, sponsorship or to cook a killer breakfast for our customers!
