Bière Froide Cold Beer
My boyfriend and I went here on a Friday night after being turned away from a restaurant a couple buildings down during our weekend trip to Montréal. Talking with Fred the bartender, it turns out the place reopened as a neighborhood bar recently after being solely a beer shop for the past year or so. While the beer selection is diverse and amazing, Fred is also extremely talented with mixing drinks to mimic the taste of different types of beers (but better and stronger). I'd say his mixing skills can rival the elite mixologists in San Francisco and New York City, and here's why: one drink he mixed for me was a bit overpowering of a flavor for me, and after politely asking if he could adjust the drink's contents to my liking he did so without my input on how to do so. He even offered to make the drink on the house if it still wasn't what I liked. The second time I felt like he really nailed it though and I was very happy drinking it. I think he can do this because it really seems he pays attention to what people like and he really cares about making Bière Froide a place that people can feel at home and well taken care of. We will be going back tomorrow night after we explore the city during the day.

Has just reopened! It's now a bar, but still has a really nice selection of cold beer in fridges (now with private import of craft beer from across the world). They have beer on tap and a selection of custom cocktail inspired by beer (like Stouts, sours, ...) and regular ones too!

To be honest there is nothing to say.Fred the bartender is talented, he knows what he’s talking about and he offer a pristine customer service.The cocktails are original and it’s approach is crazy good !Having the opportunity to taste beer from different breweries (dunham, Beauregard) that are well renowned in Quebec, as well as imports from a lot of countries it’s crazy.It’s not a dep, it’s a bar, a whole institution waiting to blow up ! And you can feel the passion getting into it.I’ve done many bars, from breweries to bars and BFCB is a gem that stand up from every other dep that I encountered before.

They have a great selection of beers on tap as well as bottled. They also have a menu of beer-inspired cocktails that are top-notch. The people working here are knowledgeable and very friendly.

Stunning service and cocktails. We went in as a group of 10 guys and the bartender had just closed the cocktail bar. But he broke it all back out for us and absolutely floored by how tasty the drinks were. Highly recommend for any occasion any day.

Showed up at the official reopening, with a new bar concept and terrace.Excellent selection on tap and in the fridge. Great cocktails too! Very good service by knowledgeable staff. You can also grab beer to go. The oysters were great - a special treat for opening night - and small snacks are available. On tap were some harder to find breweries like A l'abri de la tempête and Menaud. Some rarities like Blood Brothers from Toronto and Belgian lambic in bottles. An interesting concept and a welcome addition to the neighborhood!

Do you like beer? Tired of drinking the same old stuff from depanneur or supermarket? Well, you're in luck because this little gem of a beer store just opened in Pointe Saint Charles. They have a huge variety of hundreds of different beers, all produced in local microbreweries here in Quebec (don't expect to see Labatt or Molson there). Lots of seasonal beers and the selection keeps changing on weekly basis.The choice is mind boggling and you will have a hard time deciding what you'd like to drink. However they have super friendly staff who know their beer and will be able to help you pick the one that will quench your thirst.Only caveats is that the prices are quite steep (expect to pay around $25 for 4 x 500ml cans on average) and they don't put the price on the cans so you practically won't know how much you will pay unless you ask the staff. Would be better if they had the prices available right away. Though you can find the pricelist on their website.
