Nice, cozy venue that was a key location in the 36th edition of the African music festival that showcases a great variety of talent (last two weeks of July). This ground floor venue is a nice community asset that fosters the much-needed co-mingling of people from different cultures. The bar service was good. There are wonderful eateries in this nice area of Montreal including the very fabulous Portugese restaurant, Aldea.

Good to hear some local bands and have a beer, the service is not great, but you can have some fun, the place has a bit or a underground feeling, cool for the type of vibe.

Balaton is a nice small place ideal to have a nice drink and forget about the week, nice Caribbean vibe, we went there to see a live show by a group called Djab Djab, they were amazing!! I lived in the Caribbean for around 10 years and they transported me back there.. make sure you wear light clothing inside, canget very hot, which may make it unpleasant.

If you speak English they force you to pay to put your jacket in the clock room, while others wearing the same but speaking French just walk on by without having to. I'm sat here right now surrounded by people in their jackets and the rest of the staff just shrug their shoulders

otherworldly is all I can say about kaney konaté concert. djembe beats induce a transe in dancing spectators. absolutely memorable show.

Went to a show there last night. Amazing music, good vibe venue, very intimate with good site-lines and acoustics through the room. Only downside was drinks were a little pricey for the quality, but whatever, you go for the music and ambience. Cool place.
