Beautiful place for a walk. The old run down mill at the side of the park is great for taking photos or have a wedding. It would take roughly 45 minutes to walk around the conservation area and it’s not as busy compared to the beach area.Overall nice little getaway from the cities that surrounds it.

Rockwood Conservation Area is a lively spot, perfect for outdoor enthusiasts. Busy but fun beach with picnics, BBQs, and games. Canoeing and kayaking options were a hit. Enjoyed the hiking trail, which offered stunning views; completed in an hour. Caves were a bit ordinary but added to the exploration. Pleasantly surprised by the lack of bugs. Overall, a great day out.

It's absolutely amazing. Definitely recommend. We brought paddle boards and spent the day exploring caves, islands, and stunning scenery. Even spent some time hanging out in the waterfall. A must go to place for sure!

The park was surprisingly calm and not overly crowded during my visit on a Friday evening. There are stairs (and ramp) leading down to the well-maintained beach, offering a great view of the water and small cliffs. There are also two trails that loop the river. The Pothole Trail runs alongside the Eramosa River and provides excellent viewpoints of the cliffs and water along the way. The second trail, Cedar Ridge Trail takes you through the forest but offers a great lookout spot from the top of the cliff. Completing the loop took us around 40-50 minutes. In my opinion, Rockwood Conservation Area is one of the best conservation parks in Southern Ontario.

Nice place. We went camping 2 nights on Cedar campground, the area is nice, but it is really close to the highway and very noisy at night. The beach is ok with shallow water for children, it is possible to rent a boat. The trail is really beautiful and worth a walk.

This is a lovely little place to go hiking or to spend the day with the family. I went here with my dog early morning and it was so pretty! You do have to pay a fee to get in but I think it’s worth it considering how those fees go towards maintaining the park - compared to some other places, Rockwood is clean and very well maintained.I would suggest going early morning before it gets too hot but there are lots of shady places and benches to rest if you need. There’s also a stunning lookout point if you want nice pictures. There are caves that look interesting for those who like to explore but unfortunately they weren’t open when I went.I also saw a ton of folks being kayaks and canoes - the park even offers rentals. There’s benches and tables for people to sit and eat in. A little beach area for swimming. This place has it all!5/5 will be coming back!

It is a nice place for a day picnic. We went paddle boarding and tried fishing.Lake is shallow and there are many dead trees fallen in the lake so one must be careful when kayaking or paddling, specially with inflatables.Camping is not suggested as a very busy road is just nearby. We could see street and traffic lights from our campsite. Otherwise it is very clean, well maintained and staff is very friendly.

This place has everything! Caves to explore, a beach, a lake to swim, paddle and play in! Ruins to observe and two hiking trails that connect and loop around the entire area more of less. The Cedar Ridge Trail was definitely more scenic and not difficult; expect some incline as it is a ridge trail after all but if you prefer a flatter trail, stick to the Pothole Trail which takes you from the ruins to the beach area. We spent about two hours because we took our time and explored the campsites too. We missed the caves this time though if you wanted to see it all in one trip, do the caves first and then the cedar ridge trail which will bring you to the other side of the Pothole Trail which you can take all the way back to the entrance. We were three people and a dog and were charged $24 today though they said we could leave the park and come back for the day if we kept the receipt. Will definitely pack a picnic next time! Lots of benches and picnic tables to enjoy the views from.Happy exploring!
