The Salvation Army Oshawa Church

Called numerous times and left numerous voicemails seeking information about an upcoming funeral. The phone was not answered once and not one of my many messages was returned. I guess I'll just tell the family of the deceased that the church holding the service for their loved one refused to respond to inquiries from attendees.EDIT to respond to the establishment's response: Yes, I called the correct number. I also called within office hours, at various times of day over the course of a week, left a number to be reached at, and still was never answered.I don't know if whoever is responsible for answering your phones is trying to save face, but I have and am able to provide screenshots of every incoming call I've received over the past two weeks that will show my calls and messages were never returned.Unacceptable from any establishment, but particularly a church, and PARTICULARLY when it pertains to information regarding someone's funeral.

I am not going to lie I was once again disappointed this year with the Salvation Armys version of a Hamper. Yes, I received 2 gift cards of $25 each but I received no groceries and when I tried to speak to them about this to the attention of them over the last few days I got informed I could use a foodbank visit to get that. No offense but if you know anything about the foodbank system that prevents me from using other place if I need to. Every other year except the last 2 I have gotten everything I needed no problem. I can tell you in all honesty I highly doubt I will be returning to them for help next year. They claim to those in the most need they make me wonder.

Attended a funeral service there. It was beautiful. Clean, easy access, good coffee and welcoming patrons

My sincere apologies, i thought this was the salvation army store site, thats why i left a bad review. I didnt mean to, as i know plenty ppl love this place. I wish nothing but the best to you and your church.

Grew up going here, most of my family still does ( I moved to Ottawa)Great people and community!

My gramma was a loyal patron for over 20 years of the church. When she moved to retirement home in Pickering due to her declining health, this church refused to go visit her. They said she was no longer in their jurisdiction when my father asked them to visit with her because she was having trouble adjusting. She loyally sat in their pews every Sunday and they turned their backs on her and didn’t even have someone from Pickering connect with her. Just told my dad she wasn’t their problem and hung up! Her parents dedicated their lives as officers to the Salvation Army and so did much of her family. This is how this church treats people. She is now dying in Oshawa hospital and in distress because not one of these officers would visit or pray with her. Sickening. I hope the officers who turned her away are turned away from God’s gates when it is time. It shows where the church is, all they care about is your money not your heart or the loyalty of a woman who rarely missed a service.
