Zaika The Indian Delicacy
I had biryani today and it was perfectly cooked great tasting biryani. Spices were intense enough to invigorate taste buds. Good and accommodating staff with good knowledge of menu. I would recommend this place if someone is looking for signature Indian food cooked with unaltered perfection.

Tried butter naan, chettinaad fish and chicken manjurian. I liked fish chettinad more. It was delicious. Packing was good and the amount was good. Ordered 4 naan and got 12 pieces. Enough to eat for 3-4 times.The waiting was little too much. Ordered food at 6pm and got it by 7.15ish. Can’t blame them, the store was super busy

We’ve been getting food from Zaika for a number of years now. To be honest at one point it went down hill in the respect that it tasted “old and bland”. We have revisited Zaika in the last week or so. We have found surprisingly that the food has been transformed. It tastes fresh, it has the underlying spice and herbs that you’d expect to taste. Spice heat levels are great. If you want hot spice it’s a good hot!Not sure what you guys have done at Zaika, but 5 stars from us!!! Give the chef a raise!!

If not the best, definitely one of the best places for authentic Indian food; excellent preparation, clean, hygienic and delicious; reminded me of the excellent food we used to have at Indian dhabas 35 years ago

Zaika The Indian Delicacy
We ordered for pick up tonight and were SO happy with our meal! We had the Pakora Trio, Chicken Tikka Masala and Beef Roganjosh with coconut rice. Everything was delicious but we really loved the Spinach Tikka! We easily have enough for another full meal tomorrow. Thanks for the excellent dinner!

Really really slow, I got there about 7 minutes after the time they said it would be done (really small order) and then I waited another 10 minutes... Why? And sadly they left this in the middle fo the floor for the entire time I was waiting for my food.... Very unappetizing. I don't know what a health inspector would say about that one.

2nd time coming here, and the food is amazing. We had to dine in this time around, and we had the Garlic Naan, Butter Chicken, Chilli Paneer, Dum Briyani Veggie, Chana Masala and Mix Vegetable Pakora.The Butter Chicken and Naan are one of the best we have had and a great combo as always. Butter Chicken is full of flavour, has lots of chicken included and makes sure to elevate the recipe compared to other restaurants. For dine-in, we wish there was a larger amount given, though. The Naan is fluffy yet crisp around the corners, cooked perfectly, and put the perfect amount of garlic on top.Of the other items we had, the Dum Briyani is probably one of the best we have had as well and is executed flawlessly like traditional biryani. Chilli Paneer was amazing as well, not to mention there was so much given, and we were happy about that.Overall, we had a great time, and it was an excellent meal. It is priced around the average price for an Indian restaurant. We recommend anyone else to try it out and say that it's the best Indian restaurant in Calgary.

Finally gave this place a try and can say this is definitely one of the the best Indian restaurants in Calgary! It’s a small restaurant with only 5-6 booths but they receive lots of take out orders.We ordered the mix veg pakora, mango lassi, lamb dum biryani, and goat vindaloo with garlic naan. We absolutely loved the biryani and vindaloo equally! The meats were so tender and the dishes were both very delicious and had depths of flavour. We went for spicy and it definitely had a nice zing to it (not too spicy at all), but the medium-spice would be perfect for those who can’t tolerate heat too well.The pakora was tasty but not what we were expecting so probably won’t order those again. Mango lassi was not overly sweet and tasted very natural, if that’s what you’d prefer. The garlic naan was perfectly cooked with a soft, flaky middle and crispy edges! We loved our experience here. Service and food was excellent and we are already looking forward to our next visit.

I have been coming here for years and for the most part, it’s been great. But recently, a few service errors have been popping up. We had our relatives visiting from Dallas and off course, I took them to Zaika. After 10 minutes we were seated in a mostly empty restaurant. After another 20, we were told that the order would take an hour. I proceeded to tell the gentleman that we were super upset and that we have always come here to which we were told, “sorry, it slipped my mind to check on you.” All I wanted was transparency that they were busy and not having to wait 30 minutes to wait another 60. It saddens to receive this experience after this many years of being close customers.
