First time purchasing meat from a dedicated butcher. Purchased a couple grass-fed striploins that were incredibly marbled. As a complimentary gift perhaps for visiting them for the first time, they gave me some mouthwatering garlic sauce. Small but awesome gesture. Definitely plan on being a regular here <3 Thank you!!

I have been shopping here since they opened. This butcher shop has the highest quality meat in Durham region. Their striploins and ribeye are prime-cut, and aged. I can say that nothing else comes close. Their chicken, is very clean and you do not need to trim or clean it before cooking. Simply season (which they carry an abundance of seasoning), and straight onto the grill. Their staff is friendly and knowledgeable about any of your grilling, or cooking needs.

One of the best butchers I’ve ever been too! We live an hour away and make sure to always stop when in town. Everything I’ve had here is delicious. I love having healthy already made options to throw in the oven on busy nights that taste like a delicious home cooked meal. Todd goes above and beyond for anything you need! Highly recommend this place

A Meat Wonderland: The Butcher Shop That'll Have You Meat-ing Your Match!Now, let's talk about the meat itself. Oh boy, it was exceptional! The ribeye steaks were so tender that they practically melted in my mouth. The staff is always super friendly, and the quality of the meat is fantastic. I’m partial to a good rib eye, cooked to medium rare, salt, pepper, and butter after cooking, and these steaks melt in your mouth like silk.They were so good we finished eating them before we even thought to take a picture for this review.I’ve been buying my steaks from Off The Clever for a while now and will definitely continue.

It was our first visit today and we have to agree with the reviews on Durham Region Eats, the product selection and the welcoming staff makes Off the Cleaver a must-visit!Located in a plaza, parking is readily available and the store is clean, neat, and with enough space for those that need physical accommodations.

Craig was extremely helpful and enthusiastic about the meats and cheeses offered. He made recommendations and pairings.Well kept shop which is also staffed by experts and culinary students from Durham College.Lots of local and Canadian sourced options as well.Give a visit, you won’t be disappointed.
