Café Van Houtte
Helpful staff and great tasting drinks. Wanted my evening caffeine fix, ordered a chocolate frappé and a chocolate chip/pear muffin, both were very good. A nice alternative to Tim Hortons and Starbucks.

If there is something wonderful in Montreal is the variety of small cafés places, wether they are independently owned or under a banner. One of my fav, since way back then is Van Houtte bistro café. They've been able to maintain their quality and even upgrade it to satisfy the more sophisticated and diverse palettes of todays clientele. The service is irreproachable, so far, at least to the one I've been. The only downside I have experienced is in the box they use to put the big portion of salad which is definitely not suited to sustain an accident. As a matter of fact, the packaging is not sealed tight to prevent leakage and I had to sadly live through it on my way back home in the subway as the juice of the salads just leaked. So not cool. So if you ever wanna bring some food back home after your hard day of work beware of that container, cause it will mess up your happy mood. I Love to stop on my way back at the one at Berri station, but if it is to mess my salad this way, I'll probably have a second thought. Luckily nothing happened to my delicious but slightly overly sweet peach frappé!

I’m at van houtte. It’s closed, not until 10 pm. We don’t have the time to go to a place and find wrong information !!!!!

There's a lot of room so you can always find a free table. There are comfy arm chairs with a fake fireplace and a tv with the news on. You also have a regular chair seating and a high seat option. You can stay for hours without bothering the staff even if you only bought a coffee. It's a great place for working and meetings. It's a quiet place and has free Wi-Fi.
