Tucked in-between shops on Wellington North, this French traditional and fusion restaurant is a cross between a Provence eatery and Big City bistro. The reception was grande from a perfectly bilingual hostess. It is when you hang your coat that you notice children's writing on the wall: A curious design feature. The overall impression of the decor is an English pub, dark and woodsy. The place was half full for Tuesday lunch. The English welcome tailed off from this point forward, but the drinks server was friendly and our server apologetic. The portions, in keeping with French cuisine were small, but big on flavor. I had grilled salmon and my friend had scallops ($30 each) accompanied by a few tendrils of greens. The wine, a French white of unknown provinence. The coffee was on the house.The WC presented well, but had some rough edges. Parking is a challenge and paid.

We were browsing the busy street of Wellington for a restaurant and we passed by a few where the menu looked okay. When we passed by Auguste, they seemed packed and busy during their 5-7. However the server still greeted us and informed us that there’s a “quickie” 5-7 menu that’s cheaper but we just have to finish eating before 7. We were delighted to hear about this cheaper options so we stayed. The food did not disappoint.

Good quality food, tasty and inventive. definetly worth to try it!! Service is amazing and prices are on the high side but worth itMost of the items that look vegetarian on the menu use chicken broth. The server did not know this so it took half an hour to place the order as she went back and forth between us and the kitchen. I got the chocolate torta for dessert, which was essentially a stale spiced chocolate bread. Something I would never get again,

What a great experience we had at Auguste's in old Sherbrooke! We hardly ever see blood pudding on US menus so when we saw that Auguste had it on its menu we went for it right away! It was out of this world, cooked just right, crispy on the outside, yet moist on the inside. It was served with mashed potatoes, cooked red cabbage, and covered in a delicious brown sauce that added just the right moisture needed for this dish. Do not hesitate to order this great dish, you will not be disappointed! Our friend had veal liver which looked just as appetizing as our boudin noir.

Great food! A food variety for everyone. The server was great: very attentive and great with our son. They have a nice kids menu and we all enjoyed our meals. Would definitely recommend going!

Can't say enough positive things about this place. Superb five star service that never feels pretentious or stuffy. Creative cuisine with roots in tradition but firmly modern at it's core. Our table d'hôte menu was dreamed up on the spot by our friendly waiter, we shared a buttery luscious fois gras paté and spicy compote. I had the scallops, perfectly seared but still moist and sweet inside. My husband had the duck confit special. The menu is tight but there are options for any dietary restriction. Highly recommended.

Very, very, very good Risotto. We went with a large group, service was mostly good, but we were still there by closing so they were naturally less enthusiastic after that. Brought us some extra treats while we waited for the main course. Quite expensive, but the food was that good. Most folks got steaks and thought it was excellent. Some decent veggie (but not vegan) options.

This is a gem of a restaurant in the heart of Sherbrooke! My boyfriend and I had pretty much given up on a good dining experience in this city having come from Montreal and worked in restaurants most of our lives, but then I saw the reviews to Auguste and was thrilled and hopeful. I was not disappointed. The ingredients were fresh, and the presentation was great. The service was attentive without being overbearing. And the main dish was fantastic!!! I'm very much looking forward to going back again!!
