The SHARP Foundation

This is something I wrote for Sharp a couple years ago and it's still true. I can honestly say I would not be here today if it wasn’t for Beswick. I went into Beswick in 2012 after staying in the hospital for a long time. I was very sick. I couldn’t walk or eat. I weighed 93 lbs. There was a time they didn’t think I was going to make it. That all changed with all the help I got from Beswick. This was the hardest time of my life but they took there time with me and made me feel comfortable and the most important one they made me feel safe and wanted. There was a few of us that lived in the house and they allways made everyone feel important. With the help of Floyd and others at Sharp I have been living on my own for over 3 years and I am loving life. They gave me more than just the physical healing, they gave me the strength, the drive, the love, the will, the push and the support that I needed. I thank them every day for what they have given me and that is my life back.

I received a call back so I could do my taxes for 2020. Set up an appointment for today at 12:30. I thought I arrived early at 12:20 and started walking around to find the place. I ended up not being able to find it and plus I had called multiple times a d left multiple voicemail messages with no response back. I am currently back in my car writing this. After all the review I really expected 100%different

I recently heard that the food you serve is far from nutritious. Perhaps you should give it some thought. Why don't you partner with key people such as health food stores and farmers?

I've been associated as a volunteer with Floyd and group at The Sharp Foundation for a couple years now and find them nothing but professional and caring for every part of foundation. Thank you for all your work.

Horrible employer. They do not care about their employees at all. I had a client threaten me and decided that I was unsafe and had to quit. The team lead just swore on the phone and no one ever called me back. Would not recommend anyone work there and would never refer any clients to them.

Gerry at the SHARP Foundation is an incredible accountant, not only does he provide a free and necessary service for the disadvantaged, disabled and low income residents of Calgary, he is a wealth of wonderful information and experience on everything financial and tax related! Once you get in to see him, you will be given all the time in the world! He will make you feel at home, and like you are his only client, giving you all the time you need!He e-files all your taxes, he does not send them off by mail, ensuring you get your return as quickly as possible!The first time I saw him he plowed through 4 years of taxes I had neglected to file to that point, making sure I got the best returns! He gave me great advice on how to save my receipts that I did not need for future years, and welcomed me back next year!This year, he gave me better advice than Revenue Canada did on the phone! Without him I would have owed taxes, now I'm looking at a huge return once I go back with the documents he looked up and sent me to gather... Revenue Canada was not this knowledgable nor helpful!I was impressed last year, this year more so! If you are a person on disability or low income and looking for free tax returns or just friendly advice, call Gerry at the SHARP Foundation! You won't be disappointed!

As Team Lead, I can say, this employer is very concerned about the well being of both the staff and clients. The team shows a dedication and genuine respect and caring for clients that truly has been inspirational. The women under the care here are showing incredible strides in moving forward to embracing a life without trauma, stigma and disrespect. When a person can laugh from deep within, without reservation, you know progress is being made.I remain very proud to be a part of this organization, the work they do is truly what health care should be about!
