Bytown Estate Sales

I tend to like the inventory from their estate sales and have won two lots in separate auctions. The purchasing process is smooth. I do wish they cleaned out their items before pick up (e.g., used candles and plastic bags in a credenza). It also wouldn’t hurt if they had ramps for homes with steps, as it would speed up the pick up process for everyone involved.Unfortunately, today’s experience was a bit disappointing due to rude staff. At pick up there was a tall guy with tattoos who was very polite, but his colleague (an old woman with dark hair) was very unpleasant and made a few remarks that I found rude. Kinda soured the joy of the experience! Luckily most buyers are super friendly, so that made up for it.

The Bytown Estate team was an absolute dream to work with. They were incredibly respectful and reliable from the first interaction right through the auction, clear out and deep clean of my mother's condominium. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend them to anyone looking for help with the enormous task of sorting and clearing out of an estate. If you are overwhelmed with this part of handling an estate, you will not regret working with them!

I have been to quite a few auctions in the Ottawa area and this was the best. Sylvie and team went out of their way to accommodate us. They were professional, friendly and very very helpful. For a new auction company, I was impressed with the knowledge they shared about the items. Bytown Estate Sales is my favorite! I love the variety of items I can find from rare vintage items to amazing household finds. Sylvia and her team are so awesome to deal with and they know me by name when I see all of them. If I was going to hire an auction team this would be the one I would choose…. ❤️

Bytown Estate Sales is definitely who I would recommend whether you are downsizing or settling the estate of a deceased loved one. They are consummate professionals and handle everything in a professional manner - organizing the estate for sale was thorough and straight forward. Payment afterwards was done in a very timely fashion. And really - I don’t have enough kind words to say about Sylvie or her team and my experience with them. Sylvie in particular is not only very professional and knowledgeable about her craft, but she also has a personal touch that I don’t think you can find elsewhere. Through my difficult process she shared contact information in order to help me with the process of dealing with the loss of a loved one and a lot of her own heart and empathy. She really tried to make what was one of the most difficult experiences in my life bearable - both in the streamlined, considerate, honest manner in which she conducts her business but also with an added personal touch that I don’t imagine one would find easily elsewhere. In the unfortunate instance you would find yourself in a similar situation to myself or if you’re just downsizing - I would highly recommend Sylvie and her team at Bytown Estate Sales.

I’ve only had great experiences buying from Sylvie and her team. By far the friendliest and most convenient in my opinion.
