I have a Rockwell 10” Unisaw that I had purchased new about 35 years ago and it’s always performed well. However it started to make a ‘grinding’ noise and I couldn’t even cut 3/4” plywood. Therefore I contacted Dan's Power Tool Repair and spoke to Dan over the phone about the motor noise. He encouraged me to remove the motor and belts and try a couple of things. Therefore I removed the motor and the pulley fell off! It turns out that the key on the shaft keyway had vibrated loose and fallen off and was throw away in the sawdust! I got a new key, installed it and the saw works great again.Thanks Dan for your description over the phone of what to do and your encouragement to do it. I had contacted another power tool repair outlet only to be told that it would be 6 to 8 weeks for them to even look at it! Dan's Power Tool Repair will now be my first call for tool repair.
