Doctor Hikal and his assistants are fantastic. Very professional, welcoming and caring.However, as other reviewers mentioned already, seems like the whole establishment does not care if you have insurance or not. They don't check if you are covered before the actual appointment. They check it only AFTER and give you a surprise receipt if you are not covered.While booking the appointment over the phone and then later at the front desk, I asked multiple times if the procedure is covered by my insurance and I was repeatedly told if you are an undergrad then you are covered". The level of this misrepresentation scam is incredible. It is almost as similar as door to door utilities resellers. I am legitimately very close to zero balance on my bank account and I don't have any income so the whole procedure was a very big deal for me even with insurance coverage. The older lady at the front was very rude

I have been coming to this office for over 5 years and I have never left a review and felt I wanted to express my appreciation to the staff. I have always been treated with kindness and professionalism. I have never felt pressured into doing any dentistry but have been well informed as to what my options are and why a procedure is recommended. I look forward to having a long standing relationship with Alinea Dental!

Came for a check up. They said I needed two fillings. After the fillings, my teeth hurt. Now (over a week later), the teeth STILL hurt a lot. I ve had fillings before and this did not happen ... not sure what's going on. Definitely a bad experience - I had no pain before going for the check up .... afraid to ask for another checkup, it might get even worse...

they scam you don’t go here.i asked multiple times about the insurance over the phone and even when i got there and was told each time that “if i was taking four classes” i was covered. then when it was time to pay they informed me that you actually need to be taking four classes both semesters to be covered. i definitely asked them about this 2-3 times before the appointment so why they didn’t tell me until afterwards is beyond me.

When I first called Alinea Dental, rather embarrassingly I hadn’t been to any dentist in years - so I was long overdue for a checkup. Since I wasn’t a student at Carleton, I didn’t know if this was the right place for me, but I was referred to Dr. Tang by someone I could trust.The staff at Alinea Dental were absolutely exceptional, from the reception I received at the front desk, to the care I was given as a patient. After such a long time without a checkup I had one cavity and Dr. Tang handled it immediately. He is quick and precise. Not only did his whole team make me feel welcome, Dr. Tang’s work was so graceful, if I didn’t know any better he makes dentistry look easy.I really couldn’t recommend this place enough.

We are super happy with the staff at Alinea Dental. Our whole family goes there for regular visits and always welcomed with a smile. They especially made our first visit to the dentist very positive for our 4 year son and 2 year old daughter who were intimated by the whole idea. Very approachable and accommodating.

We have been going to Alinea Dental for over 5 years, and wanted to share a review. We love the professionalism and the knowledgeable staff at this dental office. The administration staff at the front desk , the dental hygienists and the dentists are all top notch. Dr Hikal is the dentist we see and he is the best dentist we have ever had. He puts the patient first, explains things in great detail and always offers alternative solutions. We would highly recommend this dental clinic for that beautiful smile of yours and dental experience that isn't nerve racking.

Most efficient and up-to-date dental service I have had in Ottawa.

This is an excellent dental office, with modern equipment and techniques, and located in a clean and welcoming space in one of the buildings on the Carleton campus. Most importantly, all the staff there are really stellar. Friendly greeting and efficient service by the front desk staff. Dentists who talk to you like a real person, answer questions, and explain things in simple terms. And dental hygienists who are just really superb -- well trained and personable, and they also treat you in the same friendly manner that pervades the whole office. Highly recommend!
