I needed a nurse to come to my house on a regular basis to change dressings on sores I have on the back of both legs. These sores have been ongoing for close to. 13 months. They won’t heal because it’s impossible to put a dressing on that will stay in place while being dressed or going about my normal life. If I don’t have dressings on my wounds stick to my underwear and are re-opened again and again and again. These wounds will never heal without proper bandages adhered every day until I am completely healed. I suffer from this on a daily basis. When I base any scabbing that has occurred is washed off and I’m back at square one, again. I need clean dressings applied every day or every other day. Until this is finally healed properly. I phoned nurse next-door and after several days of waiting and getting no call back I reached out again and was told that because there is no nurse in my area, the Malahat I would have to pay double for a one hour session, approximately $130-$190 for one hour but that I would have to wait approximately two weeks until somebody was available. A 13 month wound and I would have to wait another two weeks and pay close to $200 for each visit. I was willing to pay that money because I am sick and tired of being in pain. I was told that they would call me back in two weeks to see if I still needed a nurse to come out. I have received no phone call. No compassion even at almost $200 an hour. I guess you can’t even buy compassion.
