Hotel Chicoutimi

A nice, modern, boutique hotel in downtown Chicoutimi. Government/military rates are available. Some of the rooms have a great view of the river and the cathedral. There is a very small gym with limited equipment available. There are a many stairs to enter the building, so it’s not very user friendly for wheelchairs or strollers. The rooms were recently renovated, with modern, elegant decor. There are several great restaurants in the building, which offer room service. Reception staff speak English, which is extremely rare in the region. I’ve stayed here several times, and it’s always been a pleasant experience.

Well renovated and maintained. Modern setup and minimalist good taste decoration. Nice large room. Minor details suggestion for improvement: more lights in room, towel bar in bathroom, bath robe, slippers, room safety box, in room bar, ... Some lights were not working; I reported it but nothing was done. No cleaning service during stay. Only 2 coffee pods and 2 tea bags; I was there for 4 nights and had to request more from the reception. Disappointing.

Great location and rooms are super clean!

Great location right downtown, and beds were good. The washroom was very outdated and the washroom door was damaged in one corner. The elevator also seemed a little off, not leveling with the floor properly. Because of this, and the lack of a pool, I am not sure if this hotel should be 3 star.The staff were very nice, and I would definitely stay here again. But I think a few renovations would be good to really make this hotel shine.

I was staying here during the International Puppetry Festival and have nothing but great things to say. Great location, spacious rooms greta for families, friendly staff and lots of restaurants right under the hotel or on the street in the front. There is a beautiful view from some rooms.

Dirty crampy floor, worn-out mattress feel like the hotel is letting go. Ex there's a coffee machine in the lobby with an out-of-service sign and when we asked about it there was not even a glimpse of hope of it ever being repaired or replaced... service is hard to rate as mostly automated hotel

Room was spacious and clean. The breakfast included (A la carte) was great. The service was good. The gym was a little small but with the treadmills, bike, and weights it was enough to keep healthy habit during your hotel stay. The only negative point would be the shower drain was slow to drain while you shower ( the bath tub would fill will water) but thats an easy fix. We had a good 3 nights stay and would comeback again.

We had booked a room one month in advance. Upon arrival the room had no air conditioning . This was a major problem since there was absolutely no ventilation in the room of any sort. It was impossible to breathe. When we asked to change rooms we were told that there were no more rooms. No effort was made to help us find other accommodation. I am truly not a complainer by disposition so I am only leaving this review reluctantly, but this was disdainful service. Please understand that the staff was very courteous and respectful but utterly useless. Our payments were immediately refunded without problem. We were forced to take whatever accommodation was available which cost a great deal more since we had no other options. Allow this not disastrous, but a truly unpleasant experience.

Nice hotel right in downtown. It's a bit older but the rooms are nice clean and functional. Reception is great. Had breakfast there which was extremely good and staff very helpful. Got upgraded to a Riverview room with full length windows which I was grateful for. ♥️ Free parking at rear. Recommended.

The location is central, best if you plan to walk around the marina and hang out at bars and coffee shops in town. The hotel is old and refurbished, ideal if you like to experience that “cachet” atmosphere.
