The nursing staff was really great and friendly , however the Dr blurted out my personal information in the waiting room in front of everyone there , and i left feeling embarrassed and confused. I went there for a serious problem and basically got sent away worried and scared

The staff of this hospital is knowledgeable, kind and gracious. They were attentive and took time to explain where to find my destinations, on multiple visits in various departments. My experience with hospitals have never been friendly in other locations. I am grateful for the staff's kindness and respect.

I was in for a neck fusion and we are from out of town. There was no place for my Wife to wait while I was in surgery. No one contacted her to let her know I made it through surgery. It was 4 hrs post op before I called her. And I was the first!I was in there for 5 days, NEVER once did the sheets get changed nor did I get asked if I wanted a shower.I got fitted for the wrong size neck brace, we were not shown proper instructions on how to remove the brace and put back on.I NEVER saw my Surgeon until the day of my discharge . (5 days) Apparently, it was his birthday over the weekend, so him and his partner decided to make it a bday weekend and sluff off their patience to the anesthesiologists. The floor I was on had patients in the hallway, as well as different equipment. Even the “Family” room was being used as a room for a patient. As far as the nurses go, I would give them a 5/10. They are drained/ mentally and physically. Felt like they didn’t want to be there and had no desire.

All Doctors and Nurses, all the staff were kind and friendly. The food was amazing. I received a Pacemaker on my Birthday and they all sang Happy Birthday to me. I’d go there in a heartbeat. Thanks.

I we I went in the hospital on a Sunday night into the emergency room with a kidney stone that I was passing. We had determined that it was a kidney stone at home using Google the pain on my right side and various other details told us it was the passing of a kidney stone, if you go to the Internet and investigate, passing kidney stones, women who have given birth say it even more painful to pass a kidney stone anyway, when we got there, I was screaming in pain I couldn’t even walk. I actually had to crawl into the emergency department they treated me with distain and there were many people in the waiting room all reading magazines all looking they were waiting in the dentist office. No one appearing to need an emergency , the male nurse kept coming up to me and saying your last in line you’re gonna have to wait for hours while I was screaming in pain. No indication of giving me any pain killer just continually telling me you’re gonna have to wait for a very very long time. Meanwhile, everyone else in emergency was just sitting there casually reading magazines. They obviously didn’t have any emergency at all. I guess they were there as an alternative to the drop in it was a Sunday night so of course droppings wouldn’t be open, but it seems inappropriate been an emergency department would put an actual emergency hours behind people who are just casually waiting for a check up for a renewed prescription. Most of the male nurses were extremely rude. Finally after several hours I was given a painkiller and that solved the problem immediately and I did pass a kidney stone but it was a horrible experience, and the emergency department is clogged with people who don’t need emergency care .

Had to take my Dad to the hospital for more tests as his hemoglobin was way too low. We spent almost 6 hours there...but I want to thank everyone who treated him. They were all amazing and patient with him. And a huge kudos to the doctor (sorry can't remember your name, but stay safe when you are biking)...you were very kind and explained things clearly to him and made us laugh, which we needed. Kelowna has out grown KGH a long time ago...but I don't think the staff there get enough credit and thanks.
