Operant Animal Training

At the beginning, Mao Mao was a nervous border collie puppy girl and afraid of most everything around her (cars, vacuum, dryer, etc).. We decided to find a day school for her and our trainer recommended Andrew for us. Andrew did an amazing job for Mao Mao and she was a happy girl now. Loved to say hi and enjoy playing with her dog friends. Learned a lot and becomes more patient (I was surprised to see how much a border collie can learn different cue in a short period of time). Andrew provided daily updates and videos for Mao Mao and always available to answer my questions & concerns. It was not a learning experience for Mao Mao but also a lesson for us. We have learned a lot from Andrew and understand how to handle a high energy pup in different situation. We truly appreciate all the help & support from Andrew and highly recommend for everyone.

If I could give above 5 stars, I would! Where do I start - Andrew is absolutely amazing. He was recommended to us by one of my good friends. We have a 1.5 year old Cockapoo named Pablo who is VERY high energy. We signed Pablo up for 1 month of training with Andrew and he exceeded our expectations. Pablo is so much more obedient and patient! Andrew worked closely with every member of my family as well to ensure we were on the same page throughout Pablo’s training. He was very attentive and available to answer questions over WhatsApp any time of the day. He would send us regular updates throughout the training days, with fun/cute videos of our Pablo. Andrew takes the time out to listen to each of concerns and helped us understand there is a learning curve when it comes to puppy training. Andrew’s approach to training is also very unique and positive which stands out against other training programs. In addition, Andrew and Shannon treat the doggo’s like their own family and have created a very fun and safe environment, My family and I never had any doubts leaving Pablo with them. Pablo absolutely loves Andrew and Shannon, misses them and he can’t wait to visit them soon :)

Andrew is absolutely fantastic! He's got loads of knowledge and experience working with dogs, as well as other animals. He was highly recommended to us by a reliable source. He not only met all our expectations but blew them out of the water. Five months ago we baught a German Sheppard/ Border Collie mixed puppy with an iron will and lots of energy. We knew we needed a professional dog trainer, not some Intro Petsmart course. We thought private lessons with a trainer would cost us a fortune but Andrews rates are very reasonable and affordable. Plus, we regularly meet for doggy play dates with Andrew and his dog, completely free of charge which do not get count towards our sessions. Andrew will go above and beyond to help. He taught us so much and done wonders with our little pup. He'll always meets us at our local park or home, on a date and time when it's convenient for us. He's amazing at what he dose and has truly become a part of the family. He is very experianced, reliable, patient and just a sweetheart of a guy. He even took our puppy home with him for the entire weekend, as we had a trip planned where dogs were not allowed. I called to ask if he knew of any affortable dog hotels in the city and he just offered to take him .. no questions asked. I couldn't believe it, as he has a puppy and a new baby as well! He is just the best! I would highly recommend Andrew for any dog training. If it's a new puppy needing basic cues or dealing with difficult behaviors .. whatever the issue .. Andrew is your guy! He is a great person with an amazing gift. If your looking for a trainer for your dog .. look no further. I promise.. you won't be disappointed. I give Andrew 5 stars across the board for his service, quality, knowledge, affordability and dedication. We are super greatful for all he's done and continues to do for our dog and our family!

Hello!Andrew and Shanny have done a wonderful job in training Paris, a 5 month old German Shepherd/Rottweiler mix. When we first got her at 13 weeks old, she was very fearful and nervousof the outdoors and walking on a leash in particular. With the compassionate (along with patient and tremendously caring) help of Andrew and Shanny, she overcame her fear of walking outdoors on a leash.Thank you so much, we highly recommend their services, they are amazing trainers.

We feel very fortunate to have been introduced to the concept of Operant Animal Training and to have met Andrew and Shannon, who make such a wonderful supportive team. From the very first contact, Andrew was incredibly positive and offered his guidance and a plan to help us with our 5 month old puppy Bailey. We were amazed at the progress Andrew was making with Bailey when we received regular video clips and updates about Bailey. Initially Bailey was to spend a shorter period of time at Operant but due to unfortunate personal circumstances it necessitated Bailey to stay longer. He was welcomed to stay on for as long as need be and we were very relieved as we knew our pup would be loved, trained and very well taken care of. Our pup ran out of food during this extended session and Andrew happily went and purchased some more. Operant offers a dog friendly facility as there is a very large nature-like outdoor space with plenty of room for the dogs to run, play and exercise. Andrew cares so much about the well-being of the dogs he takes under his wing. Followup texts to inquire how Bailey was doing and a personal visit to our home to help with Bailey’s transition to his new environment, shows how dedicated Andrew is to following through and to make the most of the training your animal receives at Operant. Very importantly, Andrew teaches the owner the training skills so they can be practiced and reinforced when Bailey comes home. We feel welcomed at anytime to reach out to Andrew who is willing to help in whichever way he can. I had my pup Ronak enrolled in the part-time training program for the last month. Andrew and team did a fantastic job! They kept me informed right from the beginning and throughoutthe program. My pup is 2yrs old so we had to do so reinforcement training plus loose leash walking. I got daily videos and pictures so that I could reinforce the same routines at home! I loved that Andrew took Ronak in different environments to teach and reinforce the commands. The final training session was at our house, a very familiar environment where Ronak is the boss and so I got even more tips from Andrew. While I still have some work to do on Ronak's leash walking, I feel prepared and equipped to teach him better. Thankyou Andrew and team you guys did an amazing job and took care of Ronak just like family! He already misses you guys. We can't wait to come back for a play date!

Andrew is the only person we leave our dog Max with! We’ve done daycare and overnights. He’s so caring with the dogs and you can actually see it. The pictures and videos he sends give such good updates to see your pet and how they’re doing. Our dog loves going there so much he understands the word Andrew! Definitely recommend!!

Andrew is AMAZING he really takes the time to train your pup and is helping you at home every step of the way with his what's app support! I work in the animal care industry and finding a trainer for my puppy was very difficult, even with asking other professionals in my field. Andrew does an amazing job and is very patient. Highly recommend for anyone starting out and needs help with the basics!!
