Lutherwood Children's Mental Health Centre

What a blessing this place has been for our family. I can not say enough good about the work they do with both the youth and the family. The staff are very friendly and very good at their job. If kids like it there, it is also a plus! Mine does like it there and didn’t want to leave. My family has been so blessed, THANK YOU to all!

Friendly and kind staff who care and love helping others when they can.

I attended Lutherwood for 2 years several years ago. At first I was in the 5 day program I believe was called 'Woodlands'. It was a residence for housing youth under 18 with developmental disabilities. Youth would go home on the weekends but stay during the business days. The program length was a year long and it is safe to say I learned nothing from it. I turn attended the 'Steps' program which was just a normal school day with extra support. I did that for a year too I believe. Up to now I have self taught everything to myself with no support from the lutherwood facilities.Some extra information, the workers when I was there were already very unprofessional. At one time there was one staff that let a single youth get away with hands on interactions (a fight) with another youth. Another incident is the outings they did. A decent amount of the staff would often go a decently over the limit speed. Most often on the express way. Some of the staff there also were in the use of some substances. I'm sure of it.

Regularly harrass and scare drivers on the busy road near by. This evening near 10pm had several people standing next to the road swinging road signs at cars and doing what appeared to be filming drivers. Further down the road what appears to be a person meditating nearly in the lane of traffic. None of these people were marked as officials of any kind or had any sort of reflective clothing on. Will be reporting to wrps as this behavior is dangerous and could be considered threatening.

Fantastic facility with top notch staff! Can't say enough positive things about it.

We have only used Lutherwood at this moment for a psychological assessment and meeting with the psychologist. But she has been so helpful and amazing. We have learned so much and have been able to get further help because of her. I could cry because of all the struggles we have been through and then to find someone who understands and could help us finally get answers. It's a huge blessing!Everyone here has been very friendly to us as well and even entering the front doors into the lobby, its cozy and the lady at the front desk is always smiling and kind to my children and I.

Very condescending and not very nice people working here. I don't think they care about mental health, just the money considering that many kids repeatedly keep coming back to this facility, years after their first treatment.

I’m not gonna speak for other adolescents who have stayed at Lutherwood but overall personally I had more positive times than negative. Even if some things weren’t possitive, those memories did something positive in a unique way. I could use some of those events as learning experiences for myself. (I learned so much about myself just from my emotions caused by the “negative” memory) I loved the staff in Woods. I also happen to have a young service dog (he was just settled with me at home and we started at Lutherwood. We were the first service dog team at Lutherwood Children’s Mental Health Centre) he was very puppyish and they understood. They were listening and caring.

I stayed at Lutherwood 50 years ago was the second boy there when it open ...it made some structure different in my life..staff were great we only had the one build with school in the basement ..but alway heard they were going expand. Hopefully you help more boy and girls now and in years to come

Nonprofit government-funded program.My daughter has ADHD, Delemental Delays, DMDD, A learning disabilitie and Anxiety.We have been working with them for about 6 months, and every single interaction I've had with multiple staff in different departments of the program have gone above and beyond what I had expected.Psychiatrist, therapists, psychotherapist, pediatricians and/or doctors alone" cannot give her the help she needs to get better.Anyone with children like mine will know that these are very complex situations
