Universal Appliances

Have been buying from Universal for almost 10 years now, have always been amased by the service. Prices are as good as anywhere else or better, but the small family business has advantages. We were unfortunate to receive two lemon appliances for our kitchen reno. Not the store's fault, it's a post pandemic quality control issue. Had it been a big box store, we would have had a much harder time. Unviversal had the repair companies in as fast as they could get them. Two business days tops. Communication was ongoing, when GE decided to replace the stove (attempts to repair failed), the store immediately sent in a loaner unit. We were able to make do until we got the new unit. They took care of delivery every time. This last experience confirmed that I will ONLY deal with them for appliances in the future, because I know I will be taken care of.

We purchased a range and a dishwasher from these folks. They had great prices and were wonderfully flexible on the delivery. Jeremy was particularly helpful in that we couldn't find a particular part needed to finish setting up our dishwasher. I sent them an email about the problem and Jeremy got back to me within the hour saying he had the replacement part in store. I swung by the next day and picked them up. Great service!

The prices are good and they beat out other stores more often than not. The staff is knowledgeable and helpful. Good selection of quality appliances. I would recommend them, and I will go back to them if I need anything else.

I've been waiting over a year now for the balance of my appliance order. I'm missing a dishwasher and stove top. I do understand that there are supply chain issues but when I'm made to feel like I'm a bother when I follow up... that's not good for business. I can't see myself recommending Universal Appliances.

Bought a new Miele washer, dryer and dishwasher. During a promotion, so l have a 10 year warranty on everything. Well worth the money. Had everything for 5 months now and l am very happy with them. And had really good customer service.

I recently bought a new range, hood fan and microwave from Universal. They are local, and for me that is important. My whole experience was great. I never stepped foot in the store. When I called the store to speak with sales, Mark picked up the phone. I explained what I wanted, and that I was too busy to come in. Mark walked me through websites of various brands, discussing models for all the appliances I wanted. He was able to speak to all kinds of pros, cons, specs and other considerations. There were no surprises at billing or delivery. Honest, professional, fast, local.

I recently had the pleasure of interacting with an exceptional appliance salesperson named Tyler at Universal Appliances. I was making a large purchase of appliances and I was thoroughly impressed with Tyler's customer service skills. Tyler has excellent knowledge and expertise in appliances but what really made him stand out were his problem solving and communication skills. When there were supply issues with a part we had ordered, he managed to find an alternative that actually saved us money. Tyler was quick and efficient in responding to any requests and answering questions and was so easy to work with. We had to rearrange delivery several times due to unforeseeable delays and Tyler handled any and all changes with ease. I highly recommend Tyler when looking for appliances in Ottawa.

Fantastic experience. Great selection of Appliance brands. They had the items in stock that we needed. Our salesperson was Mark Clouthier and he lived up to the expectations of a professional. He was knowledgeable and experienced. He immediately understood our needs and requirements. We had shopped virtually during COVID and had a trust factor already. You won't be disappointed.

After having received our $7000 plus range, delivered by extremely professional men, we were told to call Universal Appliances for the final installation. Upon doing so, we were told that that this was not part of the sale and that they could refer us to a third party technician, at our own expense at a cost of $150-200. I was told that they were sorry I hadn’t been informed about this at time of purchase and there was nothing they could do about it. Not impressed by their customer service. As a suggestion, to improve customer satisfaction, you should charge $100 more for the appliance and the range would be delivered and installed turn key.
