Acting on a referral I contacted Meadowlark Memorials. I had a list of design elements that were important to me but little to no understanding of what was possible. Carl was knowledgeable, patient, and offered viable solutions. I was extremely satisfied with the result. It was a collaborative process from beginning to end. I highly recommend them.

It was hard to find an on-site engraver to add a name to our (heavy, bolted-down) family headstone in Surrey. Carl from Meadowlark was very helpful -- came by ferry from Victoria and did a beautiful job!

We would not have found the perfect site and memorial to our parents without him. We told Carl what we envisioned in a memorial and he had the exact stone. I had interviewed Carl Hughes, the owner of Meadowlark, and two other memorial companies in Victoria and I found from the beginning that the other two were not as open as Meadowlark to my ideas for the restoration of the neglected family gravesite.A problem we had with the old existing stone was the correction of a spelling in the engraving. Only Carl of the companies I spoke with was willing and able to fix it and repaint all the lettering.I also wanted to add a new marker for my parents with some special personalized motifs and Carl was very receptive and wonderful to work with.My impression was that Meadowlark did more work for a more reasonable price than anyone else would have.Given the emotional aspect of the project it was very nice dealing with someone so professional and sensitive.

Carl gave the most amazing service & patience while I collaborated with coworkers on a retirement memorial rock for a long standing (40 years!) employee. The rock is actually from a building that was deconstructed where she had worked for all of those years! Carl was very helpful & patient as we went back & forth on design ideas. When finally decided, Carl picked up the rock from my residence & delivered back when the work was completed. We are completely happy with the beautiful work he has done! It has yet to be presented to the recipient (April 2022), however I know she will be thrilled!Thanks so much Carl & I will continue to recommend your business & craftsmanship!

Really enjoyed working with Carl! I needed someone to help me with my project without actually going to pick out the stone and he was great in sending me photos so that the whole thing could be done via email. Since install, I've been thrilled with his work and love that he was able to handle all the aspects of install for me as well. Highly recommend.

Excellent service and top notch quality. Being a graphic designer... I was very particular about the artwork I created for my mother's headstone and Carl was able to see my vision and give me back something absolutely lovely. So glad that someone with his talent is doing this for the community as it does help with the grieving. His prices were reasonable but his quality cannot be matched. Thank you Carl.

Dealing with the passing of a lived one is especially difficult when you are far away. I live in Edmonton and dealt with Carl throughout the entire process via email. He was absolutely fantastic and very helpful. He involved me in every step and updated me on a regular basis. Our stone was packed today and a friend was at the cemetery and said it was beautiful.
