Dr. McGowan and her technician were very kind and professional. She was able to come to my house quickly (and on a weekend!) to examine my new kitten who wasn't feeling well. Definitely recommend.

I cannot praise DrMcGowan highly enough. She has come out when we were simply worried about our aging dog, and she came out for a humane euthanasia when we needed her. She is so responsive, knowledgeable and compassionate. Don't hesitant to reach out to her when needed.

I almost used this service and, even though we didn't go through with the appointment, I had to leave this review.Our 14 year old pooch became very suddenly ill and we urgently felt the need to end her suffering and were referred to Animal Housecalls Services of Toronto. We were devastated and hoping to find a kind heart and doctor on the other side of the unanswered phone.Instead, we got a string of very short and cold text messages, explaining nothing of the process. At the time, we felt they were our only option so we booked and asked to have someone call us about the process as we've never had to euthanize a pet in our home and wanted to know what to expect.The call we received to talk us through this was mind-blowingly clinical, which is exactly what we didn't want. The tech simply told us that he would inject her and she would be gone in less than a minute." He then said we had to return to the cold text conversation to ask about cremation and any other services we would need post death.When we did that

It was such a relief to have Dr. McGowan and her vet tech come to my home to remove my extremely anxious cat's infected ingrown nail (I'm so sorry that I have forgotten your name, I was very impressed with how confidently you were able to hold and gently control her during the extraction, which she was NOT willing to cooperate for). She was formerly traumatized by her last vet visit, with a lot of loud barking dogs, and I was dreading having to put her through that again - and this solution was better than I could have expected. They were both gentle and compassionate, and were able to speedily take care of her and provide antibiotics. I will only ask for house calls from now on, thank you Dr. J

I contacted Animal house calls and spoke to someone via text. As it was later on Sunday and getting close to closing time they didn’t have an appointment that day. They said they would check the next available time and asked me to confirm my address and said they didn’t think it was spelled right. I confirmed it was spelled correctly and never heard from them again. It’s been over 24 hours and they haven’t even bothered to checkin or see if an appointment was still needed. Horrible customer service. Would NOT recommend for any kind of important or emergency situation. Very disappointed.

I called in a panic because my fur baby was sick, turns out she had a UTI, the staff and vet, Dr. McGowan were wonderfully patient with me and worked with me to get Bijou the care she needed. Would recommended for sure. A+ service.

I have a cat that would rather die than go to the vet. She's a healthy 13 year-old house cat, but recently has developed all the symptoms of a head and chest cold. I Googled veterinary housecalls but inadvertently contacted an in-home euthanasia service. They quickly realized I wasn't looking for their services and recommended Animal Housecalls and Dr. Jennifer McGowan. I connected with them via text around 8pm, figuring I'd have to wait around tomorrow or the next day for them to fit me in. Let's do it tonight, they said, and Dr. Jennifer and her assistant, Dott, were at my door within 30 minutes. After a couple minutes of small talk, I could tell I really liked these people. And they clearly knew their stuff. My cat, Sooki, was born in the wild and is semi-feral, but Dott handled her confidently and compassionately while Dr. Jennifer examined her, took her temperature, even clipped her nails. Turned out all she needed were some antibiotics which Dott showed me how to administer. The cost was comparable to what my regular vet charges for my dog with the convenience of in-home service delivery. I was very impressed with the quality and efficiency of the housecall service and am pleased to recommend them.

Dr McGowan is knowledgeable, dedicated, patient, compassionate, tactful, very easy going, and professional. We had to euthanize our cat and we chose to have the procedure done at home, in a rather last minute and difficult to make decision. Dr McGowan answered all our questions, explored options with us, arrived promptly, and gave us the time we needed to say goodbye. Most importantly, Dr McGowan executed the euthanasia procedure with no apparent distress or discomfort to our beloved cat. Definitely worth the house call fees and would highly recommend Animal Housecalls of Toronto.

Dr. McGowan helped us give our senior Wheaten a peaceful passing at home. Forever grateful that she could come on such short notice on a Friday evening so he didn't have to suffer. Thank you!

Dr McGowan and her assistant Dot were great with our dog and a pleasure to deal with. Super professional and extremely knowledgeable. The Came home to treat our dogs UTI infection. So Convenient to have a Vet that makes strictly house calls.
