Dr. H was bewilderingly callous and rude to us after we received our dog’ cancer diagnosis. We had never gone through this before with a beloved pet and we called looking for some information about what the diagnosis could mean. He cut us off on the phone and told us we should find another vet. His behaviour was completely unprovoked and incredibly hurtful, and I still don’t understand how anyone would deserve that kind of treatment during an already difficult time. Selkirk Vet treated us with total compassion and saw that we just loved our dog and wanted to know what he would be going through. I absolutely would never recommend this vet to any family needing sensitive and caring care for their loved one.

We have been taking our animals to this vet for many years and have always found the clinic honest, reliable and having fair prices. Last week I called to book my dog in for a general check up and the women on the phone was quite rude and seemed rushed. I had to re-schedule my appointment and when I called today to do so, a man answered I am not sure if it was the vet but he was extremely rude and didn’t even let me explain or give me the chance to tell him why I was calling. Before I was able to re-schedule he said call back on Monday… the clinic was still open at this time so why should I call back another time? This is very poor service in my opinion. It is disappointing to see a good clinic not care about their relationship with their patients and ultimately loose them.

This vet was incredibly rude to me on the phone while trying to reschedule an appointment. He had zero empathy towards me when my voice cracked talking about the procedure (I am choked to be neutering my dog) and he said “Now I’m really hesitant to book you in!”. Rather than appease my concerns of at least empathize he actually refused to re-book my apt and had extremely bad manners. After this conversation I would never bring in an animal to his clinic; hopefully he treats animals better than he does people!

We are summer visitors to the area - took my little male dog here as he was having some issues with his prostate - Dr. Pat was thorough as to his examination and findings. The decision was made to neuter my dog. Had him booked in for surgery in a couple of days and started him on a course of antibiotics. Surgery was performed and I was able to bring him home in a couple of hours and now on the road to recovery. Sugery was fair and reasonably priced - I liked his no-nonsense attitude, tells it like it is, and doesn’t waste my time or his. If you are looking for someone to molly-coddle you and charge you an arm and a leg, go somewhere else.

I just wanted to thank pat and his staff for the excellent service they provided me today. I would strongly recommend going here if you have a large dog they handled him like a breeze with no fear and no muzzle, and that put my big guy right at ease. Shockingly reasonable pricing, first vet iv been to that has not taken advantage of me for loving my pet. Good on you all thank you again

Honest, direct, respectful and kind. They spayed my kitten when no one else would (no new clients due to covid and waitlists). Super appreciate them and their time.

Great experience, he was so good with our pup. She didn’t even make a peep with her vaccines, he also gave us great advice which we took and glad we listened. We’re very happy with the veterinarian and staff, sad that he’ll be retiring soon!

I have taken my little dog here before and had no issues. But I called to book an appointment as my dog is limping and has a lump on his hurt leg hipbone. They didn't answer so I left a message. It's been over 3 weeks and still no reply... I've called over a handful of times. I'll be going elsewhere
