We had the most amazingly welcoming, polite and funny waitress. Grace made our first visit such an amazing time! The fresh nacho chips and salsa were soooo fresh and tasty. It made me want to book a Mexican vacation soaking up the sun on a beach. The decor of the place was so nice. We will definitely be back!

Very interesting atmosphere, serves booze as well as kid friendly, has a patio, looks clean and organized. The food was a little bland and the corn was overcooked and needed seasoning. For a Mexican restaurant the staff wasn’t very diverse. The server didn’t offer any info on the drinks we ordered, she asked if we been there before we said no, she still didn’t offer any info on the drinks, the one I ordered was spicy and I would’ve liked to know that before hand. Near the end of our meal the waitress asked if I wanted more water I said yes and she didn’t bring it lol. Maybe the evening staff has more diversity? Not sure.

As our first time checking out Calvera Cantina, we are impressed! The staff is attentive and provides wonderful service. The drinks are unique and tasty, and the Happy Hour is a great time to take advantage of trying their delicious foods and beverages.The atmosphere of the establishment is funky, fresh and modern and the patio has great full sun. Be prepared for a good time! Elle is amazing and she is very kind and also attentive to detail.Oh don’t forget to stop by at the front entrance to snap a picture.Desert is a must try!

Last minute decided to try out some tacos here and definitely didn't regret it! The service was extremely quick and the food didn't suffer one bit, they were some of the best tacos I've had in a long time! I 100% suggest stopping by for some food and drinks if you haven't already, we'll definitely be back for some more. We had the shrimp, tinga chicken, and short rib taco, they were delicious! We also tried the Spicy Cucumber margarita and the Calavera cerveza beer, highly recommend both!

I am of sound mind that if you have nothing nice to say don't say it at all however I have been sitting on this review for over a week and feel that I should share the experience,  typically I only write positive reviews so I will do my best to make note where credit is due.Jan 7 6:30PM. The area is 130 Ave and is hopping busy everywhere for dinner, line ups out the door at Earls, Montana's, Keg, Karma, Kiro to name a few we stopped at. Just looking to find a restaurant to eat at before our 9pm event.It's such a shame that the waitress  was so poor for what could be a really good restaurant and venue.We won't ever eat here again. Not because of the food, we might be willing to try the food again, but our Waitress ruined the experience and our fun night out.Calavera Cantina is welcoming, a very nice venue with a open concept feel for dining. The atmosphere is charming. Saturday night and the place is NOT busy, lots of open tables. The food coming out of the kitchen looked delicious, People were enjoying drinks and groups were socializing.  $20 jugs of Margaritas would have been a good deal if we were drinking.We were a party of 3, my friend being Vegan finds dining out difficult, she appreciates suggestions for vegan options, she also appreciates a server who is familiar with the menu and can be confident in a suggestion. Our server offered the Caesar Salad and omit the bacon bits and couldn't confirm how the mushroom tacos were cooked and offered the burrito bowl without chicken but couldn't confirm the sauces.#1) we ordered food right away, we needed to be somewhere we had tickets for.  Food took 45+minutes#2) when it got to the table 2/3 meals were cold#3) 2 /3 dishes arrived first then the 3rd meal came several minutes later#4) as we wait for the 3rd meal the other 2 meals didn't have cutlery, or sauces like ketchup or salt or pepper#5) when the 3rd meal came we made mention to the cold food and no utensils#6) the waitress advised she was standing there when the fries came out there is no way they are cold.We sent these fries back and then WERE CHARGED FOR THEM !#7) let me add the Honey Hot Chicken Sandwich - this was tasty !All of the above were met with a guilt trip, rolled eyes, and heavy sighs.Very unprofessional and rude.Mentioned we could have  got our own cutlery and pointed to a bin,The waitress gruff and rude responses were unacceptable and not necessary.When the bill came with the fries  included, the waitress said yes you are being billed, they were hot when served, we asked to speak to the manager, which apparently was busy and then stepped out for an errand??All in all this was horrible wait staff and customer service.We won't eat here again. For an expensive sub-par meal and a rude waitress.

Pleasantly surprised by this place! Tacos were incredible… full of flavour! 3 were perfect size to eat with the salsa and chips, which were so yum too! Our server was really sweet and welcoming!We weren’t having alcohol, so we had a Hibiscus Jarritos! So yum! Will definitely pop back for margaritas.So surprised at the nit-picky reviews on here… some very unfair ratings definitely!

I haven't been to this restaurant before, we walked in, we're greeted promptly by a manager and seated. They offered to change the curtains for us to accommodate the sun and talked us through the kids menu. Our server arrived promptly and was very patient and accommodating to me having to take a call as soon as we had arrived. The food was so yummy, the beef tacos were great but I did love the pickled onions on the chicken tacos.Everything came out quickly.I'd be interested in trying more of the tacos as I didn't read the description very closely and was looking for less battered dishes (which is likely why I liked the beef the most) but my son really liked the chicken ones.The churros came out darker than I had expected but tasted delicious.We had such a nice time, they were attentive and the manager came back to check on us through the meal. We were there in the mid afternoon so it wasn't very busy but had great music playing and overall a great experience.Thinking this might be our Mothers-Day dinner spot as my Mother has a taste for tequila. The margarita and tequila selection was extensive (but wasn't trying that out today).I've tried restaurants that have been in this location previously and never felt a need to go back, we will definitely be returning to this one.

This place is amazing! The ambiance, the food, the drinks, and the service were all phenomenal. We had Sabrina as our server and she went above and beyond for us. Will definitely be returning against for some more margaritas and tacos!

Stop by here Friday evening for a quick bite. Hostess greated and seated us quickly. Waitress was very friendly. My pomegranate tequila sour and ur tacos were delicious.
