Sula Indian Restaurant, Main Street

Ordered 2 starters, one curry, garlic naan and a side rice and everything exceeded my expectations. Although the atmosphere inside was really nice, we opted to sit on the street patio and loved it. The servers were very attentive and all the food was so fresh and flavourful! 11/10 recommend, will definitely be back!

Delicious food, lovely staff, and peaceful atmosphere. We stumbled upon Sula because the place nearby where we were planning to get lunch was closed unexpectedly. We didn’t have a reservation but they were able to accommodate us. The food was served in beautiful dishes and was absolutely delicious. We loved everything we tried. It was very flavorful.

During my recent visit, I had the pleasure of trying some of their delectable offerings.The paneer fingers I ordered were a true delight. They were perfectly crispy, and the coating had a wonderful blend of flavors reminiscent of chat masala. The paneer itself was incredibly soft and added a delightful creaminess to each bite. It was truly a delicious appetizer that I would highly recommend.Another standout dish was the aloo peas paratha. It was expertly prepared with a perfect balance of roasting and spicing. Each bite was bursting with the flavors of the potatoes and peas, and the paratha itself was wonderfully flaky. It was a truly satisfying and delicious dish that left me wanting more.The tandoori and garlic naan at Sula Indian Restaurant were also noteworthy. The garlic naan, in particular, had a genuine garlic flavor that added an extra dimension to the bread. Both naan varieties were soft and freshly made, complementing the main dishes perfectly.One of the standout curries I tried was the Kofta Dil Bahar. The curry itself was amazing, with a slightly sweet and tart flavor profile combined with a creamy texture. However, the koftas, unfortunately, were a bit hard and could have been more flavorful. While this aspect slightly affected the dish, the overall combination of flavors was still enjoyable.In terms of the ambiance, Sula Indian Restaurant has a very nice atmosphere. The decor is beautiful, creating a pleasant and inviting dining environment. It adds to the overall dining experience and enhances the enjoyment of the meal.To summarize, Sula Indian Restaurant is a pretty good place to satisfy your Indian food cravings in Vancouver. With its delicious paneer fingers, flavorful aloo peas paratha, tasty naan varieties, and wonderful ambiance, it offers a satisfying dining experience. Although the koftas in the Kofta Dil Bahar dish could have been improved, I would still recommend this restaurant to anyone looking for authentic Indian cuisine.

First time dining at Sula on Main Street with my family. We had family visiting from California with us. They wanted to have Indian food on their last night in Vancouver, so we took them here.I'm so glad Sula was able to accommodate a last minute reservation for 7 people.The food is amazing! We had Tandoori Wings, Vegetable Pakoras, and Paneer Fingers as appetizers. We shared 2 pitchers of Rose Sangria.We had Lamb Korma, Chicken Biryani, Chicken Tikka Masala, Butter Chicken, Saag Paneer and Coconut Rice for our main dishes.For dessert, we ordered Gulab Jamun and the Ras Malai Cake.Everything was presented beautifully. The food tasted fantastic! Everything was perfectly seasoned and spiced. The curries were rich and creamy.Oh and that Garlic Cheese Naan is divine! We actually ordered more of that to go.Our relatives were so impressed. They said the food they had at Sula was better than the Indian food they had in California.We sat out on their covered patio which was very nice and comfortable. The interior of the restaurant is lovely too.The service was very good and attentive.I'll definitely be back.I highly recommend this restaurant!

One of the best Indian restaurants in the city.Tried the branch on main street, and got a table right away. We tried the portobello mushroom, chicken 65, dal makhni and garlic naan. Excellent service, we asked for bowls and were given some even through they weren't stocked. Found a dish spicy so was given some raita on the side. Would visit again just for the 5 star service ⭐The dishes had good flavor but the texture on the mushroom left me wanting. Was tasty for the first few bites but got soggy really quick because of the gravy (not sure if this appetizer should have gravy). The chicken 65 was better, but the chicken could be juicier, and the flavor was mostly thanks to the chutney rather than the chicken.The dal could use more malai, and I've had better but not bad. The naan was some of the best I've tried in my life.Easy, great meal but maybe had a few areas of improvement.

Food was pretty good, however the service was disappointing.Took 20 minutes for a waits-person to approach our table, another 30 minutes for the food, no one checked up on us for the next 30 minutes eventhough we wanted to order more stuff.We were initially offered a plate with a bug on it, which grossed me out and isnt acceptable as we were one of the only 2 tables of customers in the store ( would have been ok if it was busy, but it wasnt)Took over 10 minutes for catch the attention of someone to get new plates. They replaced the plates & offered no apology.Overall, the foods good but it isnt worth the waiting and the lack of service.We've previously ordered through online platforms, but the food arrived bland and messy , however, in in-person dining, the food tasted good. Would probably recommend one of their other locations over this one.

We decided to order from Sula on Main. The food was delicious. Garlic and potato naan picked up the sauces well. The lamb and chicken were tender and the spicy level good. Food arrived hot. Highly recommend!

Amazing food and pretty good service. Recommendations would be the garlic naan, chicken tikka, and tandoori chicken. The curry’s do taste a bit the same after a while, but the naan was delicious. Would go back here when craving Indian food.

Food taste was bland. We ordered lamb rogan joshy and chicken jalfraize. Both the dishes tasted exactly the same kit the meat has been swapped. Service was great but I wouldn’t recommend this place if you’re looking to try authentic Indian food.
