Camp Kintail

My partner and I got married at Camp Kintail in June in 2023 and had a great experience from start to finish. Firstly, the site is beautiful. We had our ceremony at their outdoor chapel overlooking Lake Huron, and it felt so magical. The grounds, the gardens, and the buildings were very well-maintained with an eye for detail. The staff were helpful and easy to work with, especially our main contact Jen.We also really appreciated the accessibility of the whole place. Every location that we used could be reached by ramp, and they offered a golf cart shuttle for those who needed it to get down to the ceremony. The washroom labels at MacDonald Lodge were attached with velcro and thus easily changed to all-gender. Some of our guests stayed in cabins, while there were also plenty of indoor rooms we could offer to those who needed more comfort.We heard lots of lovely feedback from our guests, and we had a wonderful time ourselves!

Went there for an end of year school trip with my daughters 5/6 class. Such an amazing experience. The 2 camp representatives (Waddel and the female from Austrailia I forget her name) were absolutely GREAT. The kids really enjoyed them and they made the day fun. Thanks again and will be back.

This past August we hosted our wedding at Camp Kintail. We wanted someplace that reflected our love for the outdoors and that could also provide overnight accommodation so that our guests didn’t have to drive as they were driving from all over the province and then some. We wanted to make a weekend out of it instead of just one day and Kintail allowed that to happen. What sold us on this location was the above, plus the outdoor chapel and flexibility with having an on-site indoor option for the ceremony should weather not cooperate, as well as the use of the entire camp for our cocktail hour, photos and reception. Our guests loved being able to walk the beach, use the trails and the lawn games.Right from the start of the process, the planning staff I worked with exceeded my expectations when it came to working with a camp around planning a wedding. They were responsive, professional, detail oriented and helpful with problem solving. We had Kintail cater our rehearsal dinner, wedding day breakfast and lunch as well as the day-after brunch. Each meal was delicious and there was ample amounts of food provided - as well as lots to choose from when we were building our menu. They were accommodating with the requests we had.The day of the wedding went smoothly. Jen was on-site from the time of the rehearsal to well after the reception had begun to ensure everything went well.The only reason I am giving four stars was because of the accommodations but we knew this going in. They are rustic and basic - guests need to provide their own bedding and some accommodations don’t have easy access to bathrooms. They also require the wedding hosts to completely handle accommodation booking for their guests, which was challenging at times because of the back and forth we needed to manage with guests answering questions and tracking down payment. This isn’t likely to change given it is a camp and that’s totally ok - we just needed to explain this in detail to lots of our guests so sometimes there was extra work for us. But, that being said, only those who were ok with all of this stayed on-site - the rest booked local B&Bs, cottages or hotels in Goderich.Overall - super positive experience and we have great photos and memories to look back on!

We went to the Family camp. It was excellent. The food was awesome. The events were great. Our only suggestion is that event times need to be adjusted for larger groups. I group of 12 getting the same amount of time at archery as a group of 3 meant several people didn’t get to do archery.Overall great experience. We will be back!

A very well run and high energy camp with excellent staff who dedicate themselves to kids having a great time. Loved the high ropes, wall climbing, Frisbee golf and omg the beach!Great food, and accommodations for all, especially the parent chaperones.

Camp Kintail is a great place for families or kids. The cabins are in great shape, they have many activities planned that are interesting for kids and parents (e.g. archery, high ropes, climbing, gaga ball, swimming, beach, arts and crafts and much more). The food needs to be mentioned as it was delicious!! And at any time one can refill water bottles, grab a juice or pour a coffee/tea. Absolutely loved it.Cabins don't have running water or toilet, just electricity. I'll be back!!

My wife and I hosted our wedding at Camp Kintail in September 2022. To summarize the whole experience, we had the wedding of our dreams! Jon (director), Jen (wedding coordinator), Mark (chef) and all the staff were super helpful in realizing our dream. They went above and beyond what the expectations were and did anything they could do to facilitate our requests. From the accommodations to the food to the service to the guidance and assistance in helping to plan and execute on the wedding day. The venue has everything a nature lover would ask for including amazing views, spaces, and accommodation that works for any taste. We highly recommend hosting your wedding or big event at this venue!
