Indian River Walking Trail

Quite a bit of stairs. Nothing daunting. Steepest one was 74 steps.

Gorgeous trail in the Riverwood area of Springdale, NL.There is parking at either end of the trail, the River Side being at George Huxter Memorial Park, and the Bay Side being near the arena in town. There are entrances for both sides of the trail near the Riverwood Inn and residences. Be prepared to either backtrack along the trail, or walk along the highway back into town, as this is not a roundabout trail and has two separate ends. One area of the River Side also goes through the back of a lumber yard, so just take caution and follow the signs to continue on. Additionally, there are several stops where salmon fishing is permitted at specific times for fly fishing only.If you take the Bay Side of the trail, it is an easy walk, and not long. It has boardwalks, lookout points and forest covered areas. The entirety of this side stays quite close to the river, and is perfect for viewing wildlife.Taking the River Side of the trail is just as beautiful, if not more, than the Bay Side, however is about twice as long and leads out of town. The waterfall at the end of this side is worth the trek. This side features around 400 stairs going both up from and down to the trail, so please be mindful of this if you have any mobility issues or plan to take children along.

This is a good place to walk. Also Beavers exist here but they will not interact with me.

Its beautiful
