Kanata Lakes Animal Clinic

This clinic was recommended by a close friend but my wife and I were quite disappointed with the staff. My sister is a veterinarian in Toronto and the one staff members questioned me like she was trying to prove that I was lying. I would say maybe it was just me but she was on speaker phone and my wife had the exact same reaction after hearing her. We found her to be quite rude.Also, I requested that they send the medical records to my sister but they were not sent so I have had to follow up.This being said, the surgery went well and our dog has healed up quite well thus far.

My cat had a dental surgery on Wednesday and we have nothing but good things to say. They were able to take him quickly (next-day consult and surgery scheduled for a month after that) which was a much quicker timeline than other vets we had contacted and the price was reasonable too. Dr. O and the other staff were great with him and explained the after-care really well so we were left with no questions. We definitely recommend.

Very thoughtful when we took our dog in to say our final goodbye. Had cookies for the dog, gave us time alone with her before and afterwards. We were not rushed out in any way. We were told we'd get a call regarding different keepsakes. Told this would happen within 48 hrs. This did not happen. When I called in after 2 days, they informed me it would be the company doing the cremation that would call me. And while I should have asked for the name of the company, I did not, and was assured I should be hearing from them that day. Fast-forward 2 weeks later when I still had not heard from the company. I decided to just email the clinic to let them know that I never did hear from the company, but in my mind when a distraught person calls in to ask when they would be hearing, they should have followed up on my behalf. I could barely speak on the phone as I was still crying. She was less than 2 months shy of 14 years old. I didn't want another Family to go through the same thing, so I wanted them to know how I felt. I was not angry, but sad and disappointed. They replied offering condolences and apologies. They said the company would be in touch with me and they would prepare a Precious Paws keepsake for us, free of charge. I fortunately had prepared some pawprints from our girl and was able to send a pic of that, as well as a few of the dog. One of her fave things was going in the pool. They encorporated this memory on the back of the keepsake disc. It is a cherished keepsake for us. While it's hard to say who dropped the ball" in this case

Dr. O is kind, unbiased, non-pushy and genuinely cares about the animals he sees. The clinic has been exceedingly accommodating with seeing my cat under short notice, and helping us to navigate her asthma. Whenever I feel unsure about what to do, I know I can call and they will help guide me towards the best next steps (whether that’s coming in, waiting at home, or another option). The clinic is also very affordable and upfront with the cost of more expensive procedures (like dental care)!

Dr. O is great! He did an excellent job with my senior dog who had a dental cleaning and also for my puppy’s spay surgery. I definitely recommend them!

This Dr. and his staff are amazing!! I first went to him a few years ago with my shitzu Abby she had to have surgery on her shoulder, I was so happy with the results and the care the Dr. gave my fur baby Abby. Abby is no longer with me she is in doggy heaven, she was over 15. I then got my next fur baby Peanut about a week ago and brought her to see the kindest and amazing Dr. and he gave Peanut all her shots and was so gentle and loving with my pet Peanut. So if anyone is looking for a vet from heaven, you've found him. Thank-you to you and your staff for caring for my fur babies ❤

You will not find a more knowledgeable, caring and compassionate team at Kanata Lakes Animal Clinic. I only wish I met Dr.O and his team sooner but I'm glad I did and recommend any owner to seek his medical advice and services. It's been a tough 2 years with this pandemic and for me my dogs were my companions through it all. I first met Dr.O during an at home euthanasia for one of my Bostons and I knew I needed to bring my other dog to see him. He cares so much for your pets but also provides you the information you need to make decisions. No guilt tactics, just real talk. I struggled with so many clinics before coming to Kanata Lakes and I am so happy I found this clinic. The pictures you see are of my late Hulk. He passed last week but Dr.O gave me at least another year and a half of life. He and his team were sooooo amazing with Hulk as well. Even when Hulk yapped blindly at them. I know when it's time I'll return and continue my pet care with Dr.O and his team. big shoutout to April and Britney for always taking my calls and being so accommodating. It's not an easy business dealing with pushy animal parents and am so thankful for their help.

This is by far one of the most affordable vets in Ottawa. And they don't push unnecessary stuff on you but give great quality service. I'm thrilled with this place. Plus the staff are wonderful.

I had a very disappointing experience due to the unprofessional behavior of the receptionist, April. Despite the care provided by the vet being excellent, I was spoken to in a condescending manner by April and she was being disrespectful and acting as if I was a problematic client when in reality she was instigating the situation and it was obvious she was trying to make me cause a scene. Thankfully I did not.I understand that the care provided was in the best interest of my pet, but the negative experience with the receptionist has left a sour taste in my mouth.I hope that this review will serve as feedback to the management of the vet's office, and that they will take steps to ensure that all staff are trained to provide a respectful and professional level of customer service.

Our first visit with a young female doctor she loves our dog. She was greeting Tesla with his watering mouth! She is lovely lady for sure. Giving us the recommendation right away after couple minutes. Dr.O is awesome he really cares all fur babies. Sometimes doctor’s attitude really affects the owners....He is holding the most chill, professional, and knowledgable caring to all of us. Everything is quick and efficient.
