J & S Masonry, Restoration and Genereal contracting

I hired J & S to renovate my basement and refinish my deck last fall. They did a wonderful job, the tile back splash and flooring in the spare bathroom are beautifully done with absolute precision. I couldn't have imagined that it would turn out as well as it did when I gave them the plans.They were always on site when they said they would be and their quote was one of the best that I received, you get what you pay for after all, and they are worth every penny!I also had them refinish my back deck which included replacing some of the older boards, replacing the stairs and railing which were falling apart and stripping and re-staining the entire deck. Once again they worked quickly and efficiently, not wasting my time or theirs and stuck to the quote which they had given me at the start.I am hoping to add a mudroom/sun room next summer and I hope that J and S are available again to do this work for me as I felt that I could trust them completely and as a female it sometimes feels like people are trying to take advantage of my inexperience, but these guys were straight shooters and I appreciated that more than you can imagine!

I would like to thank Jessie for being a man of his word and working everything out with me, when I phoned him today. Again, I am sorry I didn't give you a fair shot in the past but It is nice to see that you've become a successful business owner. I will recommend you and your services to my clients. A year ago or so, I was looking for quotes for my chimney restoration and they came-out and were the lowest quote out of 3 others. Was skeptical at first,because of the price, but work was excellent as promised. They were completely honest about what was required and didnt try to oversell. Ended up using them again for rebuilding my old deck and foundation repairs and they were very accommodating around my odd working hours and starting early for me. Gave me a great price I think on that as well considering my friend who was visiting for a golf tournament and is a contractor in Toronto said his company would have charged 3x that he thinks. Dont usually write reviews but promised them i would for all the great service and concessions especially when a bit more work had to go into the foundation. Had a beer with one of the workers when they completed the last day and they are great and can;t say enough about them. Would recommend Jesse and Shawn any day to anybody not handy like me. Jesse and Sean were always on time and always left well past the time of 5:00 p.m. The dedication of these two was mind-boggling to me. These two gentlemen told me they would have the job done in 4 days, lo and behold it was done in 3 days. I even offered them a bonus for completing early and they both refused.they told me we all signed a contract for a certain price and they wouldn't feel comfortable going over and above what that price was. Jesse told me that the smile on my face was good enough in terms of a tip.I originally called these two gentlemen because I was having an issue with my trees overgrowing and starting to invade my neighbors property. Not only me, but the neighbors were also delighted. Jesse and Sean assured me that they would be able to take care of it and they certainly did. They did so at rapid pace.Now I live in a very old house in the East end of London, I'm sure you can tell just how old the house would be seeing is how it is in East london. Now during the initial job, the two gentlemen pointed out to me that the chimney was slanted. They suggested that we repoint it to avoid any conflicts in the future because they have done such a great job for me already, who was I to say no. I'm glad I didn't because once it was done they gave me a very very very good price and they told me that if there were any problems with the chimney that they would come right back to take care of it.These two men stand by their work which says a lot in today's world. Saying you can do one thing is one thing, but showing the world you can do it is entirely different . These guys have shown me that they can do the work and are willing to go the extra mile.So when it comes to J&S, I cannot recommend these guys enough to my friends and my family and this goes out to anyone reading this. I can guarantee that you will feel more than satisfied and even more in their work after they're done. I say that because these are two guys that you can tell take real pride in their own work.
