Belleville Underpass
Recently opened underpass of the Bellville Railway Subdivision for the Lower Don Trail multi-use trail. Featuring large archival photos of activities that have taken place in the Lower Don Valley on the walls of the wide and airy underpass. It replaced a claustrophobic corrugated steel culvert that served as the underpass for years which had poor sightlines and sharp corners at the entrances. Although delayed by a year, the final result was well worth the wait.

Interesting that all the years I have biked, hiked, roller blades and then today hiking from Riverdale Park I found this marker on Google Maps. The Don River Trails have changed so much over the years and especially miss the wooden half circle patio I'll call it that was built under the bridges for foot traffic and of bikes. Looked for it today and absolutely no trace of it anywhere. I went back through the photos and truly a shame from all the amazing murals on this underpass of days gone by and what it looks like now. No Respect !!!!

If your a photographer the area has alot of great places to shoot from, will come back in the future. Also if ur just a runner/biker nice place to explore.

Belleville Underpass
Still tends to have gravel and mud on the path here year round. Definitely not worth the year-long path closure required to build it.
