Laurie Dietrich, Birth Doula

Laurie is knowledgeable, caring, and supportive. She eased my anxieties about childbirth by directing me to evidence-based research and knowledge. She helped me create a birth plan that reflected by needs and values, so that I could navigate the system in an informed way. She truly believes in women-centered care.

I did not have a doula in my first pregnancy but knew I wanted one for my second. I was planning a home water birth and felt I could use the extra support for myself and my fiancé.When we met Laurie it was an instant connection. She is so kind and easy to talk to. She had a very calming and friendly presence that I felt I could use around me for my pregnancy and birth.She was amazing at helping us through the process of preparing for our birth with our post natural appointments. . She was available for questions during my pregnancy and went out of her way to help provide tools to help me with many of the pregnancy problems I was having such as ; heart born ,discomfort, sickness , muscle pains , Cholestasis and more. Laurie had a way of making me feel at ease during any issues that came up. She helped my finance and me go through all possible situations that could arise and talk about options so we could be as fully prepared as possible for the journey ahead, always being supportive in our choices. She was supportive of my fiancé as well and made him feel extremely comfortable to ask anything . She even made my fiancé a small booklet to have during the labor as a little cheat sheet which was incredibly kind.The big day came and we called Laurie at 3am , she came in record time . Laurie was absolutely amazing . My labor was very quick and intense. Laurie was able to help me stay in the best state of mind by reminding me to have horse lips , reading my affirmations and holding my hand. Laurie not only supported me amazingly but was there for my fiancé and daughter. She also was able to remind me of my true wants during labor when options were presented to me. Laurie took the initiative and gave me the amazing gift of filming my daughter being born in the last few mins along with taking some photos. Laurie was incredible thoughtful throughout every stage of pregnancy and labor and was really intended with myself , my wants and my needs. Laurie was my anchor in the last stage of birthing and I truly don't know how I would have done it without her.Our family will always love Laurie and feel blessed to have had her a part of our daughter birth.

Laurie went above and beyond with prenatal, birth and postpartum care. My labor didn’t go as planned but thanks to Laurie’s guidance, we managed to deliver a beautiful baby naturally. Laurie also helped me address many postpartum questions that first time parents have and provided further links to articles and videos to learn more. Laurie really cares about her clients and I will definitely use her services for my next pregnancy.
