Esquimalt Recreation Centre

The Esquimalt Rec Centre pass is not connected to any other Sannich facilites but the pool is fantastic. It can be a little rover crowded at peak times so call ahead if you plan on going during a holiday or school break. Great staff though!

Great rec centre. I dropped one star because the steam sauna is sometimes broken and it took some time to fix it. Also call ahead because sometimes their hours change due to inadequate staffing or programming. There is an hour for rehab with the physiotherapists which is nice but it is child free during that time so watch for that as well.

:( I was hoping this would be my new rec center, I just moved here but the website and actual hours are different. The front-desk staff twice have just left me feeling unwelcome.I know its not personal when people have bad days everyone has thembut twice I have had a really disappointing interaction with desk staff who are annoyed I interrupted their phone call about their weekend and left me standing waiting for them to pause their call, I waited for ages and they were talking about last weekend..., or like the second time I interrupted their conversation with other staff to ask if the pool was open and and both times no...it's not.I don't drive so it would be better to post the actual pool capacity online or have a dial-in number we can call for updates...It's 30$ round trip for me when staff don't answer the phone and I use the pool for physio...this is supposed to be community center, and community focused since it's community funded...but it feels like the mission here is go to work

I would like a wholehearted thank you to go out to lifeguard Jessica and laslo for coming in to work at 5:30 a.m. this morning. Without their initiative, we who rely on the pool each morning for therapeutic reasons would have been turned away. Thank you so very much

.I rarely rate a place with 5 stars but since I know a thing or two about Recreation Centres I understand how challenging it is to accommodate as many people as possible. Esquimalt Recreation and Parks seems to have a solid philosophy and a welcoming staff. I bring my friends here often and help their kids start learning to be water safe.The lockdown has had a huge negative effect on Recreation Centres and effectively shut down training opportunities resulting in staff shortages. I only hope things can get back on track because children must be taught how to swim and understand the dangers in, on and around water.

A smaller pool compared to others in victoria although has most amenities you'd desire; baby pool, kids pool with lazy river, adult pool with 3m deep end with spring board. No waterside though. Overall would recommend if close by.

Pool is pretty good. Workout area is pretty good. The only thing I don’t like is one experience I had, some child decided the pool was a toilet. Nevertheless, good experience.

Great facility. Bigger hot tub than Crystal, has a lazy river, and 3 swim lanes + leisure lane. Very well kept and good staff.

The gym is well equipped with machines free weights, bikes, treadmills, mats, ellipticals. The hours allow lots of flexibility. There is a sauna, steam room, hot tub and pools. Excellent value for the cost. Great for my schedule.
