I've ordered a few books from this company over the years. Here is my experience: 50% of the time the order does not arrive. 25% of the time the wrong book arrives. The other 25% it's the right book but took 6 weeks to arrive. So.. ya got a 1 in 4 chance.Probably a lot of people don't keep up with their orders, forget about them, and the seller or AB make $. Refunds are occasionally incomplete... This all takes time and energy. Just not worth it. Don't do it.

I have always loved AbeBooks and now love them even more! When the puzzle I ordereds for my mom did not mysteriously arrive during the CV-19 lockdown AbeBooks offered to re-send it out for free and even gift wrapped it beautifully. It arrived and my mother's smiling face in the photo I received of her holding up the gift was what compelled me to say a HUGE thanks to AbeBooks for your service and attention. I will purchase from you again and again

Ordered a book. Seller sent a much less valuable edition. AbeBooks did nothing when I reported this fraud. This website is a scam. Don’t they have anti-fraud laws in Canada? Never buying from this website again.

Crooks and fraud artisits. Avoid ABE books and any seller on their website. They are all dishonest.

I ordered a second edition book, because this firm advertised rare/vintage books. I received an email indicating the book was new and soft cover which I knew couldn’t be correct. I made contact with the seller prior to the book being shipped and they refused to stop shipment. Two weeks later I received a brand new copy of this vintage book! I read the return policy and returned the book quickly back to the seller of what I suspected was a copyright infringement. Another two weeks later I am in receipt of a request for the tracking I had given same day the book was shipped. I then received an email indicating I used the wrong address (taken from the receipt in the packaging) and if I didn’t have new tracking information to the correct address in two days my refund would be canceled. I searched for a phone number and have been unable to do so. I requested a telephone call from a manager or supervisor to no avail. If you are looking for a rare book...buyer beware...customer service is via email and the responses are condescending with the tone of an insubordinate child. I returned this book 10/18/2018 and am still waiting for a refund. The entire experience has been frustrating, the book was ordered 10/1/2018 and I have since found an original second edition on line. I ordered the book AND have received it....now that’s a lesson in futility. Enter into business with this firm with your eyes wide open.

Do not order from these guys if you need your books in a timely fashion. Twice now I paid for expedited shipping and it still took 2 weeks. Once again, I learn why I always get my books from Chegg or Amazon.

False advertising on their site. They advertise one book and shipped another. They sent me the wrong book and refused to refund me. They finally agreed to refund me half the price of the book. Do not buy from their 3rd party seller Romtrade.

I ordered a book. They sent me an email saying the order is canceled and that I will not be charged for the order and yet payment went off after I received the email. Just a bunch of thieves taking your money.

Don't care about customers enough to bother to help. Their excuse is they are too big. I will never buy from them again.

STAY AWAY FROM THIS SITE!! They run scams for sellers. They have a loophole which allows sellers to charge rediculous extra fees" for shipping AFTER the item is purchased. Basically allowing the seller to test and see what price the buyer is willing to pay. I'm sure Abe Books gets a cut too. Abe Books states the extra fees are limited to adding additional shipping for heavy books
