Film & Forest Photography

We had Film & Forest photograph our Rocky Mountain wedding a few weeks ago and they helped create a truly memorable experience for us. Working with Liam & Afton was so relaxing and easy, as they are both genuine and friendly people. With every wedding there is craziness, but the times my wife and I were doing couples portraits with them felt so professional yet relaxed. They gave the day a much needed breather, and helped us remember why we were there. They were one of the best parts to our day, so we couldn't recommend them enough if you are searching for a company to photograph your wedding.

Afton and Liam are truly world-class photographers. The photos they gave us could not have captured the magic of our day any better, and their attention to detail puts them far above other photographers that we considered. I am very uncomfortable in front of a camera, and they put me at ease right away - it felt like they were friends just there to enjoy the day with us. They were the best decision we made while planning our wedding. We live in the US and relied on them to help us plan our micro-wedding in Banff. They made everything simple - locations, timeline, transportation, etc. They were always available to bounce ideas off of and provided sage wisdom when plans had to change last second. They are wedding wizards. If you want the best of the best, look no further.

Afton and Liam are incredibly talented photographers. We had only met them once over Skype before our big day, but as soon as we met them on the morning of our elopement we felt immediately comfortable with them. My husband even forgot they were present during our first dance in the forest.They were able to catch our true personalities and emotions in all of our photos. They catered to our busy elopement schedule, and go out of their way to make sure your day is exactly how you envision it.We cannot recommend this dynamic duo enough.

My husband and I had the most incredible experience with Afton & Liam for our honeymoon adventure session! Coming all the way from South Africa, we had dreamt of doing a shoot in Banff for an incredibly long time. After seeing Film & Forest’s portfolio of work on their website and instagram, we were sold! Although we knew we would absolutely LOVE the photos and final output, we completely did not expect the planning process and actual experience of the photoshoot to be so memorable and fun. We had the most incredible sunrise hike of our lives (and we hike a lot here at home in South Africa)! Wrapped in nothing but darkness and stars, we did the baby trek of 8km at 4am with the coolest couple ever. What an unbelievable experience that I just want to relive over and over again ... As the sun slowly mounted, we were met with the most insane view of the famous Canadian Rockies alpenglow - the time of day when the sun is so low in the horizon that it casts a pink light on the peaks. It only lasts a few mins before sunrise and sunset, and is one of earth’s greatest shows. During our shoot, Afton & Liam would occasionally let us drink in the unreal view of the mountains and lake in front of us that looked like a postcard. The highlight of our trip and favorite trip to date!

Afton and Liam's team is incredible at what they are doing! We had to organize our elopement in a fairly short timeline and they were incredibly quick to respond to all our questions. They are there as friends more than photographers. They were able to guide us on things to do in the area, best hikes and were amazingly professional on the day of the event. I honestly, could not have wished for a better photography of our special day. Thank you so so much Film and Forest!

Anyone can take pictures, but Afton and Liam are able to capture the emotions you and your partner have for each other. With their photography style combined with their personalities, they are able to create and capture those candid moments which make your poses and pictures look so natural. Plus, they're just awesome people! We thoroughly enjoyed our experience with Afton and Liam. Thank you for the great memories and the amazing pictures.

Afton and Liam are so amazing for so many reasons.They know the Rockies like the back of their hand and are able to suggest variety of beautiful hikes. And they are literally so easy going - both my husband and I had a blast hiking with them and the entire adventure session was really fun. We loved how they were able to easily prompt us during the session and capture so many authentic and raw moments. Their work is absolutely beautiful - I'm a huge fan :)

Discovering and booking Film & Forest to capture our elopement was by far the best decision we made. Afton & Liam are first and foremost just awesome, super nice, and super fun people. Afton’s direction and posing style is fun and easygoing and made us awkward turtles forget that we were taking photos. They are also very experienced hikers and with being outdoors which was one thing that we never had to worry about following their lead up mountains in the dark.Their true to life colours but still stylized editing is exactly the kind of style we love (and is also surprisingly hard to find done well in our search for wedding photographers). We got our photos so incredibly quickly and they turned out even better than we could have imagined.We love that Afton & Liam genuinely live and breathe adventure outside of their brand which made us confident and excited that they were the right people for us. The photos are our pride and joy every time we get to share them with others and we’re so grateful that we’ll have them (and our fun experiences) for our memories forever. 20/10 would recommend!

Afton and Liam were absolutely amazing to work with from start to finish! They are both so friendly and easy to talk to. They were always prompt in answering our questions and gave us a ton of ideas and suggestions when we asked for them when planning our elopement. They stayed in touch frequently throughout the planning process. Thanks to their guidance, we chose an amazing spot at Lake Minnewanka. They said we would arrive with our guests, walk along the shoreline until we found a quite spot, telling us they had a couple places in mind. My husband and I walked around Lake Minnewanka the day before, thinking this would calm our nerves since we'd never been there, but we really didn't need to. Afton and Liam knew of a secret little spot, better than we could have hoped for. I was a little anxious about the guests standing throughout the ceremony and how it would look, where the aisle would come from for me to walk down, etc. Afton and Liam placed everyone strategically so I got my aisle AND amazing pictures throughout the ceremony. They knew exactly what I wanted, what would look good, and gave great direction to us and our guests. Taking our family pictures and couples pictures was great with their direction as well. No confusion, everyone was layed back. My mother pointed out how much she loved the look of our family photos - men with their hands in their pockets, ladies with their hands on the bouquet. During our couples photos, they kept us moving and laughing so we could get the good candid pictures without it looking forced. When we got the pictures back we were SO happy, the editing was superb. Nothing is over edited"
