Safeway Burnaby Heights

What stands out here is that this Safeway has great cistomer service and will fix their mistakes. I bought a can of coconut milk for butternut squash soup, and when I dumpped in into the post with all my roasted veggies, it was totally black and curdled.I took the can back to Safeway, and the manager, without a receipt:Replaced the coconut milkReplaced the butternut squashRefunded the cost of both to my credit card for my trouble.I used to shop at Superstore Grandview, but consistently wrong prices, zero customer service, and their points credit card sneakily doesn't stack points - I'll pay a teeny bit more at safeway.Plus, the new Scene program is awesome and I'm getting tje credit card to increase of points!

This Safeway is about okay but I find that each time I come here, I never know what kind of experience I'm going to have. Some good, some bad. It's hit or miss.I've lived in this neighborhood for almost 10 years, and unfortunately, Safeway here is the only store here to go to. It has it's moments.It's fairly common knowledge that any Safeway really is overpriced compared to other grocery stores but being the only store in the neighborhood I guess they don't have to compete but they could price match if a customer brought in a competitors flyer, but they don't.I'm not a fan of their fruits and vegetables quality and selection. I generally go just a half a block away to the market for those. By far better quality and price and I can always find someone around to help me if I need it.This particular Safeway, I find it very difficult to find someone to help me if I need it. There is almost never anyone at customer service, so I either have to stand at the customer service desk until a cashier notices me standing there waiting for someone to come and pages someone or a staff member walks by and notices me. The alternative is to look up and down the aisles until I find someone.Now my experiences with staff is hit or miss. I've never once yet come across a staff member that hasn't been willing to happily help me and most of the time will actually escort me right to what I'm looking for. Well done with the hiring process.My drawback is that sometimes the staff is unfamiliar with the layout and what they actually sell. There have been many items that I've regularly purchased there for years, and they have no idea that they no longer carry it for whatever reason or they are just out of stock and when their next shipment comes in. I have had several instances where a member has no clue what item I'm talking about or where it is. Others will say they have never carried that product when I've been purchasing that said item for years. I don't think it takes much for a board to be up in the staff room noting changes, discontinued items, delivery dates etc etc and the list goes goes on or there already is one and no one reads it.I was disappointed when they switched to this Scene point system which from my perspective caters more to savings to families but not so much to the single or lower income shopper. (I'm on disability so it doesn't give me much to work with).I don't have a choice really but to shop here. I just know I have to be extremely careful and savvy when shopping.And for the love of God, stop moving things around!!!

Most of the times I visited this Safeway, was well stoked. Good customer service, most of the time asked for something I found someone ready to help. Some cashiers are very nice.

Cinnamon buns baby. Best around. I'd much rather buy a pack of 4 cinnamon buns here than buy 1 at cobs for nearly the same price. And I swear to god the cinnamon buns here are literally better. Better icing better everything. Although that is dependent on who baked them. Some bakers don't do as good as a job as others. But that's alright. What can you expect.

My go to grocery store. I really like the layout of this Safeway. I find that I can get what I need quickly and efficiently. It’s always well stocked and the prices are comparable to other big grocers. Large parking lot in the front and additional parking underground (but it’s never this busy).

The bakery here makes the most delish treats ever. And the store itself was clean and organized. It helps that they have underground parking too as the lot outside will fill up quick. Especially on a Saturday afternoon

Just tried the bbq pulled pork rap and it’s the best pre-made meal I’ve had from Safeway. Pls continue to make it

Safeways are pretty much standard so I wouldn't say it's better or worse than any other one. I did see eggs here, I know there's a shortage elsewhere especially in the USA. Domodedochu says eat parsnips.
