Transcona Country Club

So I was here for a large grad ceremony. Parking was not great. My rating reflects on that only. Really had nothing to do with venue or staff. So, if you are coming here for a large gathering like a grad, come early if you want park in the lot.

Justin was wonderful to deal with. Communicated well, friendly and professional. Feel confident in planning an event with him.

My Fiancé and I had our Halloween wedding social here and we could not be more disappointed. Just 3 weeks before our social date, we were told the price per person, and drink prices had all increased exponentially! My fiancé had been in contact with this venue for over two years as we had to postpone our first social due to covid, and at no point in the two years other then 3 weeks before the social had they mentioned the price increase. Bev, the events coordinator was extremely unprofessional and unorganized, showing up late to meetings, taking days to answer emails, and never ended up sending us the contact information for the DJ that they provided. We had to google their information ourselves and confirm they were even booked for our event! On the night of the social, when we arrived they were not ready for us to start decorating as they didn’t even have enough table cloths for all tables. They had the opportunity to have two bars but decided only to have one which caused a 15 minute wait to get a drink all night. The food that they MADE us buy was pathetic. 1/8 of a sandwich, cheese and pickles which they charged us over $2000 for! Security was completely overwhelmed, even though it was only half capacity. Any time there was an issue, security asked us to handle it, which begs the question why security was even there? The staff started cleaning up before the night was over, throwing out peoples drinks and food. We would not recommend this venue as it added so much stress as we were under the impression things were going to be taken care of and they weren’t. We understand the challenges of running of business during covid, and those are not the issues we had. The issues we had was purely the unprofessionalism, disorganization, and the execution of the evening.

Just had my daughter and future son in law’s Wedding social at this venue. We can’t thank Justin enough for his professionalism and attention to detail. He made it so easy for us and the social was a tremendous success. Listen to Justins suggestions and you will be very happy with the outcome. Justin certainly knows this business. Thank you again Justin from the bottom of our hearts.

Our wedding day, including both ceremony and reception, was at the Transcona Country Club. The coordination and organization of the staff was amazing! We were grateful for their timely communication to all my questions throughout the entire process, flexibility with our changing plans and freedom with our decorations! I would also like to add the buffet was soooo good! The food was served to all our the guests (135) really quickly and was very delicious! Would recommend to everyone for their special day. Thanks again!

Recently had my daughters wedding there. Leanne was excellent to work with. Will was very accommodating and easy to work with. Had the service at there outside venue, was very nice. It was a very hot day, they had ice cold water for people to drink before the service and some nice cold beer or wine for the wedding party. Hall was decorated beautifully, there music man was fantastic. Food was very good except they used frozen vegetables!!! Summer in Winnipeg, should have had fresh vegetables. When they brought the wine to the tables, they opened every bottle instead of asking if anyone wanted wine or if they preferred red or white. Lots of full bottles we had to pay for and they wouldn’t let us take them. Lastly, the late night lunch was good, but they took it away very fast, most people went up for some including myself and it was gone.

I went to a celebration of my friend’s life at Transcona Country Club, the service was amazing, the supervisor Bev was friendly and helpful, the bathrooms were clean and the food was delicious. My only complaint was that the coffee was a little bit strong. Other than that, my time honouring my friend’s life was respectful and enjoyable. I would highly recommend booking events here.

We had our wedding here on July 5, 2014 and I can not say enough GOOD things about our experience! Right from our first phone call inquiring about having our wedding there, down to going over the bill afterwards, it was nothing but a positive experience. Leanne and Terry, along with all of the staff were amazing! Dealing with them both was an absolute pleasure. They are extremely knowledgeable, courteous, and attentive. Leanne was extremely helpful in the planning stages and Terry was a rock on the day of our wedding, making sure everything ran smoothly. The staff at the reception were wonderful! They were so attentive to what was going on. My aunt picked up 2 plates at the buffet to start filling one for her and one for my 95 year old grandmother (who is in a wheelchair) and someone was at her side immediately to fill Grandma's plate so that my aunt could do her own. We've heard nothing but positive comments regarding the staff and everyone said the food was amazing! Truly exceptional service from start to finish! I will recommend the Transcona Country Club to anyone who is planning an event. Thank you to everyone at the Transcona Country Club for making our special day PERFECT!!!

We were very disappointed with the way things turned out and can't believe how everything had occurred, it was extremely embarrassing and all of our staff and families had to pitch in to make the event successful.Here are some of the things that occured:1) We paid 300 dollars for event turn around and tables to be set by 5pm upon our guests arrival, when our staff returned at 430pm we found there were 12 tables with no table cloths and Jennifer running back and forth to look for tablecloths to fit, we PAID and rented table clothes from the venue but all were mismatched and dirty with stains.2) We paid for cutlery, dishes and cups for the tables, nothing was set when we arrived, our coaches and athletes had to set all the tables with napkins and cutlery, but we ran out of forks and had to go and wash them ourselves.3) glasses were not put on the table and were also dirty, there were not enough water jugs to put in each table so we had our parents and staff helping to fill them as well.4) I had emailed and asked for the bar to be open at 5pm , I have the email to prove it, the bar did not open until 6pm. We were charge from 430 to 1030 for bartenders5) I had paid on my invoice for two bartenders and 2 security and 1 busser/1 dishwasher for the event, there were 3 staff total and the one staff continued to tell us he is not an employee and just a boyfriend helping out.6) We had tried to help Jennifer in any way we could to make our event run smoother, but she was very overwhelmed with everything happening7) We paid for coffee and tea service, to which neither were plugged in, so when people went to get them it was cold and undrinkable.8) there were church people in the venue we rented for a private banquet testing bass guitars for the Sunday service.9) All day the bathrooms were dark, and there were cleaning supplies all over the place. We asked multiple times for this to be fixed and it never happened. Children were scared to use the washroom due to the darkness.10) We were under the impression that pop was going to be free at the bar. It was not, so we asked if we could include it on our tab and put it out by the table, Jen was upset about this and overwhelmed. She finally allowed us to do so and then the venue ran out of certain pop and just grabbed whatever they could to put out.11) Initially we were conversing with Dale, and a lot of things seemed to get lost in the cracks. Jen told us we did not need bussing staff for the event , so we cancelled ours but then it was clearly apparent that we should have kept them.We would appreciate a response at your earliest convenience or to speak to a manager regarding our event.

My fiancé and I just did a tour with Justin. We were expecting max. 1 hour but we were with him for way longer and we are so excited! He showed us his past work and want he envision for our upcoming wedding! We were not expecting to book right away but we loved his vision, his passion and his ability to listen to everything we wanted! We know we are in great heads!
