very disappointed when interacting with customer services. I recently purchased a pair of ski boots, and after using them for the first time to ski, for about 15 to 20 minutes, the insides of my feet began to hurt, making it impossible for me to continue. Then I went to the store, I was told repeatedly to buy $60 ski socks and reduce movement by the man working in the winter sports section after he looked at my feet and said, “Your feet are the problem, the boots are great for you. ”And I explained to him that the previous ski season, I had worn regular socks and skied in my other boots without any discomfort or skin peeling, so this new boots must not fit properly. Also, if this boots were great for me, why was my skin got hurt? I also asked him to go into more depth about how to ski with less movement. Is skiing an moving activity? He continued by saying that after working for 8 hours, he doesn’t want to argue with me.And he even asked what I do for living. How does that assist in resolving my issue? Overall, very bad customer service, really impatient and rude.

Overall, it was a good shopping experience . Well worth dropping by to see what they have in terms of ski gear. Some items can certainly be a bit pricey. The staff tried hard to find a ski boot fit for my son.

Attention and customer service is unsatisfactory, especially in the winter sports section. Other google reviewers seem to have had a similar experience, so I do not seem to be the exception. My general experience has been that you are being mostly ignored by staff when in the store. In one particular incident, I was one of several customers that did not get noticed by staff while waiting for a good 20 minutes (meters away from sales staff I may add). There are many good local sporting good stores out there with better knowledge, way better service and great products, so why bother with bad customer service at Sporting Life? Went to a local snowboard shop and a local nordic skiing shop instead and got excellent service and purchased all the products I needed. Sporting Life, you won't see me again.

I came here shopping for a gift for my husband. There was a nice variety of clothes there. (I didn't look at the other parts of the store). The prices ranged but I caught a good sale so I'm happy. I also looked at running shoes there and the young man who helped me was great.

I have been shopping for years in sporting life and had thrown thousands of dollars there. The first time I want to switch or return something they give me a hard time. They refused me by saying there are marks on my trousers and the tag has been took off. Well who’s gonna wear a trousers with a tag on it all the time. And for the marks they are just lick mark of my dog and can be easily wiped off. I bought it last week and only wore it for 2,3 times and found the size not perfectly match. I couldn’t believe I was treated like that as a loyal customer and to be frankly, I will never go shopping in sporting life again since I ‘m pretty upset for their switching or returning policy.

Staff make you feel like garbage. Seemed to be with all customers so it wasn't personal or racist. Snooty to say the least. Nice selection though, lacked pricing or organization in some places. Perhaps a scanner for self-service since it seems to be the trend for this store and probably better than the human cashiers.

Really good discount at the end of snow season. But the best part I liked is the stuff they have, spend almost one hour with me with all the patient and professional suggestions. Gave me the best offer they have and the most suitable thing they recommend for me. Love this place and will definitely recommend to my friends!

** IF YOU PARK HERE WITH ACCESSIBLE PARKING PERMIT YOU STILL HAVE TO PAY THE METER OR $75 FINE.A top notch spot for winter jackets. As well as many other top brand name clothing and foot wear. They have a great return policy and you can get discounts as a member. My wife and daughter buy all their winter jackets here. They also have nice carry on travel bags.

Store is so hit and miss. Product offerings are all over the place. The ski department is not as high-end/technical as I would like but they do a good job. Staff are all over the place from students on their phones who have no idea what they are trying to sell you to some very talented experienced sales people. This also applies to management as there are some very helpful managers and some who like to hear themselves speak and think they are the center of the universe. Pro tip, ask for Scott or Gord in the ski department they have been in the industry forever and are great. Also if you want to get your gear worked on make sure to book an appointment as they get really busy at times. Best ski shop in Ottawa IMO
