This is the bakery of my childhood. I used to come here for fresh buns and my favourite was the hot dog bun with the mayo! Even after it's cooled down it still tastes delicious. I remember the days they used to be cash only but they do have a machine for debit and credit now!! They also have a bunch of cute new cookies packaged like cute characters/animals. I usually would think twice before buying a single cookie for over $1 but the packaging with this Matcha cookie made it suddenly worth it?? Marketing at its finest. I'm excited to taste the mango cookies I got as well. I know you can't go wrong with their buns! Just wanted to try something different and new from them.

Very good assorted buns, cakes, tarts, desserts from savoury to sweet. They are very delicious and very good price. $2 for a big bun or $2.75 for 3 smaller buns.

My go-to place to get baked good! The bakery has a variety of sweet and savoury goods such as buns, cakes, sticky rice and cookies. I recommend this place to all! And if you’re walking around Chinatown, it’s a great treat to grab on the go.All their baked goods are affordable and they provide that lovable homemade taste and feel. When you eat the buns early in the day, it’s so warm and fresh.I also love supporting this local family business. The owners are very sweet and kind. I’ve been going to this bakery since I was a kid and I won’t be stopping anytime soon. It’s a hidden gem in Calgary!

Underrated gem. The different types of buns are so good and if they recommend you try one that just came out of the oven take their word and try it. Never tried the bbq pork bun after going a couple times and they told me they had fresh ones now I always get one when I go. Coconut bun is still my favourite.

If there's any spot in Calgary that's an institution, for me, Rainbow Bakery is it. I have no idea when it was opened, but it's been around since at least my junior high days. I came here to buy tasty Chinese baked goods as a kid and now I'm bringing my own kid here.Everything is made and baked on-site throughout the day. You can see the owners working away in the back and smell the product as it's being baked. I haven't tried any of their new packaged products which seem to consist of a wide range of cookies, but all their buns and egg tarts are just as good as I remember them to be. It beats that factory baked stuff that's on T&T's shelves nowadays by a very long mile.If I had to recommend only one item, it would be the egg tarts.

We love this bakery, not only for the baked goods but for the wonderful service too. We ordered cakes from here and they have always been sooo delicious, not too sweet, and beautifully decorated, and reasonably priced. The couple that run the business are very kind and sweet and their efforts show. My kids love the buns and cakes. We will definitely be coming back to this bakery again!

Their bread is so soft and if you get a bun, the filling is flavourful! Would definitely recommend this bakery if you don’t mind the wait (it’s a small bakery so it’s expected).

The buns are fresh and delicious every time I'm there. I actually wanted to introduce my son to the shop for the first time. He enjoyed his Ham and egg bun. As for me, I greatly enjoyed my Hot dog bun. Looking forward to going again sometime!

They have the best cakes ever! I called for a last minute cake request and they were able to accommodate for me. They made it fresh just before pickup. The mango cake was light and fluffy, full of healthy fruit. The wife and husband team do an amazing job!
