I would not recommend OAC. We were really needing answers for our son to get a proper diagnosis to help him. I was calling and trying to get him into everywhere to be assessed asap. I was desperate for help for my son. I pulled money out of my TFSA to pay for this assessment at OAC, and I would never recommend someone to come here. We were treated like a fee. When we were getting our assessment results we were passed off so quickly to get answers. I had to tell them my son hadn’t even gotten his ADHD assessment yet we were waiting to get that from them from this assessment. Frankly, I deserve some of my money back the care here was terrible, we were pushed off and felt like another dollar to them.

We have taken both our daughter and son here for diagnosis and evaluation with respect to neurodivergence. They were able to work us in over a year faster than BC Health and were helpful, respectful and informative.

Poor quality pre-recorded reception. Agonizing waitlists. Extremely insulting conversation with specialist, including the suggestion that an autism diagnosis for my son would be pathologizing" his "unique" behavior. Autism is NOT A PATHOLOGY. I would expect a specialist to know this."

Dr Welder and staff were very patient, empathetic, genuine, and thorough. We felt supported and heard when our son was undergoing his assessment process. He was born with Down Syndrome and we have much experience with services similar to OAC. I feel confident in saying that our experience was excellent. I have never seen such a detailed and relevant report with recommendations that are clear and actionable. Thank you Dr Welder!
