It is easier for someone to steal your identity, then it is to call the CRA to simply change your phone number and update your address.

I was informed to fax My as my account got locked. Customer service said they don't have enough information to recover my account. CRA have have neither an e-mail nor a phone number. Fax and mail were the only options they have. Every staff I talked to suggested different instructions. One told me to send a fax to Sudbury, and I did. When I phoned customer service, other staff told me to send a fax to Winnipeg. Some staff just said to send your information. Later I got to know I needed to send SIN number to solve the problem.Logging in is such a fundamental issue. Taking way too long to get connected to customer service is another struggle. Please come up with other ways to communicate. Fax and mail are too outdated and the sender cannot be sure you received them properly or not.

I received a letter telling me to complete my registration online and it tells me it’s out of order iPhone the office and I’m told there’s a 45 minute wait before anyone gets my call that’s outrageous

This Basu person that left a 5 star review has CLEARLY never had to actually deal with CRA, you probably had a question or two and they answered it.Try not getting paid by them when you have rent coming due and it's their fault for not dealing with your claim until a month later. OH we are very busy with covid claims" NOT MY PROBLEM."

Waited on hold with staticky classical music for 42 minutes. Callback feature was full. Despite choosing all of the correct triage prompts the agent says she’ll need to transfer me to the department that can get me a security code and places me on hold, where I have clearly been put BACK into the queue which is now an estimated 2 hour wait. For a simple code. But did you know that they are “now offering extended hours of operation?”(To account for their grossly inefficient processes?).

Sorry I can't leave NO stars for CRA service

I give them 5 star because I see the complaints from the people mostly who are either ignorant of the system or want CRA to waive their liabilities. People like the cheques from them not the tax bill. I am not working for CRA but whenever I call them they answer appropriately. Some agents are not professional, hang up the phone after holding for long time or transfer the call to someone again putting on hold. But, mostly they answer my questions. You expect waiting time like the CRA to any other call centers like banks, communication companies, credit card, insurance, etc. But, why are you surprised of waiting time from CRA? Now, they have a virtual assistance as well to answer most common questions, which is more convenient. I thank CRA for continuous service improvements.

Phoned the CRA and dealt with a woman who gave me the wrong information. She accused me of never paying taxes, and said my parent had done my taxes wrong when I was underage. She was super condescending and thought I didn’t know what a T4 was, even though I’ve worked since I was 16. Turns out she was totally wrong. This accusation that my taxes were done wrong all my life left me stressed out and panicked. Workers at fast food restaurants have far better customer service skills, which is unacceptable.
