Majestic Manor Personal Carehome

3 1/2 years ago our Dad was discharge from Hospital to the Dementia unit at a large private care facility in Regina. Our dad spent 1 month there and had we left him there I am sure he would not have survived.It became clear very quickly that the non-ownnerous staff were not putting in the effort effort required to assist him to become independent again. His needs were lost in a large care facility and we were sure we were going to lose him if we left him there.When we moved our dad to Majestic Manor he was very weak, so he was in a wheelchair. He was incontinent, very thin and also had a palliative infection. Cathy immediately began working with him and he was out of the wheelchair and walking again,with his walker, within a few days. She toileted him often and a good routine helped him become continent again. He hasn't used a wheelchair or been incontinent once in 3 1/2 years and his infection has completely healed.Our family can't thank Cathy, her family and their staff enough for how well they look after our dad and for treating him like a member of their family. No one makes our Dad smile quite like Cathy does. She has a real gift and we feel she is doing what she was put on this earth to do. We believe it is their dedication and caring attitude that truly saved our Dad's life! We would recommend their care home to anyone looking for a place for their family member.

My mother has lived at Magestic Manor for 8 years and it truly has become her home! Prior to moving there, she lived in a Residential Care Facility and we could tell over time that her health was significantly declining. As a result of a hospitalization and the realization that mom needed additional support, I talked with the hospital social worker about other care options and she suggested a Personal Care Home. When I asked if she could recommend a Care Home, she highly recommended Magestic Manor. I told her I would contact them within a few days and she said I shouldn’t wait that long as “good” care homes are hard to find. So, I made an appointment to visit Magestic Manor the next day and after seeing the home and visiting with Cathy and her husband Mark, my mother and I felt we had found the right home for her and fortunately they had a room available. Within a week, she was moved in and what a blessing that has been for her and for us, her family. At 95 years of age, mom is healthy (for her age), happy, and surrounded by people who care.I am an R.N. and have strong opinions about what “good” care looks like! Without any reservations at all , I highly recommend Magestic Manor to anyone looking for a Personal Care Home for themselves or their loved one. It is a family owned and operated home which is located in a quiet residential neighborhood. Care is individually provided based on the resident’s needs. The owner and operator, Cathy, carefully screens employees to ensure that they meet their standards. Residents are treated with respect and dignity. There is no detail that goes unnoticed, including remembering birthdays, celebrating holidays, etc.As a result of placing my mother at Magestic Manor, because I know she is being taken care of as I would want her to be, I have peace of mind. Cathy and Mark feel like they have become not only a part of my mother’s family, but also ours! There is no other place that I would want my mother to be!
