I have enjoyed Shumyla many times and it has always been good. The perogies are great and my favourite especially the potato and cheddar cheese ones. The food is tasty and served hot. This is a take location and is was clean and well lit. The service was friendly and courteous.

Shumka was always a favourite spot of mine, growing up in Edmonton, and now every time I visit from Ontario, I make sure to stop in. Today my friend and I had the pleasure of being assisted by Leona who was just lovely and super friendly. We had a great chat (and she makes a killer lemon poppy seed loaf to boot! Don’t miss it!). The food, as always, was top notch. We had borscht, cheddar perogies, cabbage rolls, nalyshnyky, and koubasa and everything was cooked to perfection and super tasty. Hats off to this fine establishment that has remained steadfast and consistently delicious over the years! See you next time!!

Lovely Ukrainian food. I enjoyed the 6p platter with meat balls, the sauerkraut soup was a great addition to all the dishes.Would skip the Borscht next time as it was bland.Thought it was odd that all the dishes are served dry; (tomatoe sauce , sour cream, any toppings had to be purchased separately... So don't forget to add those! )Otherwise great meal served hot. Used doordash. Would order again.

They’ve really gone downhill. The lady behind the counter was so unfriendly. Made me feel like I was a burden and taking her precious time away from more important things.I’ve been ordering at the Namao location since they opened. It was really good in the beginning. I felt they were always expensive but worth the occasional treat. Over the years I noticed subtle downhill changes but continued to support them anyway.Today, I was charged extra for what seems like a tablespoon of an $0.89 can of tomato soup. Disgusting. Why happened to the nice tomato sauce?! Are they so hard up that they have to get greedy with the “extras”I was also charged a ridiculous amount for “bacon” and onions. Except it was NOT bacon. It was half raw pork fat that made me literally gag. Also paid extra for maybe two tablespoons of sour cream. Greedy!The perogies and cabbage rolls were undercooked and no flavour.Save yourself the money and go elsewhere.

Ordered online. Borscht was very basic, only beats with a pea once in a blue moon. Where are the potatoes, the cabbage, the onions? Cabbage rolls had no sauce and no meat.The Nalysnyky and Perogies were good quality. Don't think I will order from here again though sadly.

Went in for dinner tonight, was so out off by the snottiness of the young lady behind the counter( one with dark hair) we ended up leaving. At least the folks over at uncle Ed’s know how to smile and be courteous to paying customers. Will not be returning

Shumka always has amazing homemade food that has my mouth watering before I even walk in the door! Thanks again for the delicious lunch!! The price I paid included take away as well. Ps…Leona at the counter was lovely!

The taste of the food is good, the pierogies could definitely have more filling considering the price of the items…they could put more cooked onions on all the pierogies as well not just on two of them, the cost of onions is pretty cheap. I also should not have to ask for sour cream and utensils for my take out order.

A very down to earth place to get Ukrainian food. The meatballs were crave-able, the best thing on the plate. The perogies were also very good. I didn’t think the cabbage rolls or nalysynky were that great unfortunately. I’d definitely go back but wouldn’t make a special trip.
