The Glebe Centre Long-Term Care

Not a good place to work very careless nursing supervisors. Residents being touched by other residents on locked unit when this was reported to in charge nurse was just brushed off was told a week later by head nurse that she never reported the incident to the residents family or anything I was told if I mentioned it to anyone I would also be in trouble because she never reported it. Lifts not being used properly there are more then one buckle on a sling for a reason but staff dont care to buckle both buckles just trying to get the job done faster rather then caring about a residents safety. I hade a few free mintues before my shift ended and was asked by a residents to help her hang up some clothes she has been at the glebe for 4 days and has asked plenty of staff to assist her with hanging a few clothes which she was then told ask the next staff coming on they have more time very sad this women was wearing the same clothing for 3 days she has stated I would never want my family to go here after I assist the residents to hang up some of her clothes I was the told off by the nurse that the woman can do it her self this residents could not reach to hang up anything also confined to a wheel chair the nurse then said she would get someone to lower the closet rod so the resident can do it herself which I dont believe was ever done. Unprofessional staff alot of inappropriate comments and behavior sexual remarks staff talking bad about residents if you truly care about ur loved ones I would look elsewhere some where with caring staff.

The Glebe Centre (specifically Bankwood) is full of wonderful residents whom are assisted by a wonderful nursing team. The Butterfly care model used on Bankwood allows residents a safe home area that embraces their individual care needs. The activities lead Megan on Bankwood is no short of a blessing - she offers kindness and compassion alongside fun and her engaging activities for all of the folks living there.

The Assisted Living looks fine but the memory care I would not recommend.They forgot my Mother’s medical appointments, she was moved to a memory care unit, and her furniture, clothing disappeared! Literally, she only had a pair of dirty slippers on her feet.Not sure why this happened..it just seems inhumane. Sorry to have to write this, and we are bitterly disappointed.

It’s my last day as a student for my replacement in this wonderful place and I’m really sad as I really felt like home and best place to work there and have your replacement, very organized and spotless and very safe place as the staff were very kind to me and showing me the right way to work and gain experience as a PSW student, for anyone out there looking to place your beloved once as a really home then choose glebe center as I assure you that the staff are the best staff ever as kind and professional towards the resident and treat them and take a very good care of them , good job Jana and marlen and domenic love you guys and can’t wait to apply there

My mom stays here and she very well taken care off. The staff are very professional, courteous and extremely helpful and sharing with us. The only detriment is the obvious lack of parking for visitors at all times. I ate a meal with my mom and the food was well above average especially compared to other places my mom had stayed at. It looked clean and well taken care of.

Very clean, well-managed retirement home. Kind, professional staff. I love it, but can the taxpayers handle the costs?

I have unfortunately lived next door to this place for 3+ years, despite them being informed several times of how much of a nuisance they are being. They continue to take deliveries prior to 7am. The most recent time being this morning. It is a by-law noise violation to accept a delivery before 7am. It's a frequent occurence for this place to make enough noise that would likely wake up the entire neighborhood (and likely their own residents) between 5:30am and 7:00am because of their deliveries being accepted.Source: It is a violation of Ottawa’s Noise By-law 2017-255 to operate heavy delivery vehicles between 11 pm and 7 am. The only exemption is if the building is in schedule b"
