I sat in the hospital for 15 hours over 2 days with my son who had a concussion was jumped smashed his head off the ground and was kicked multiple times by Multiple people while he was unconscious. After getting an order from my doctor for a CT scan We waited 15 hours and they sent us for regular x-rays. Then the nurse pulled us back 3 hours later and said she can determine that my son's brain is in bleeding and doesn't require a scan. I called my doctor and my doctor was not happy about this as the order came from him. I don't know if it's because of the hospital staff shortages but there is no way that a nurse can look at a child and physically say that his brain is in bleeding based on looking and talking extremely disappointed with the service here

I don't come here very often. Rarely for emergencies more for scheduled appointments. This is the second visit in one week for both an emergency and a scheduled appointment. The staff, on both occasions, has been rude, condescending and unhelpful. When asking a question the staff talks down to you and treats you as an inconvenience. I'm appalled by the amount of disrespect and belittlement of the staff at this hospital. Also, watching staff members bicker between each other in the general areas of the facility was embarrassing to see. I managed to keep my thoughts to myself at the time of my visits but I left feeling ridiculed and physically upset both times. The culture at the BGH is not one of a positive kind.

I came to the ER with my TWO YEAR OLD after him being sick since Tuesday (it's friday). I tried self managing, saw a walk-in and he just got worse. I arrived at 12 am and waited till 9 am only to be seen at the treatment clinic for 10 minutes. My child cried and screamed throughout the night and nothing was done. I get that there is protocol and I was prepared to wait for 5 hrs atleast but making a 2 year old wait that long is ridiculous. No work up was done, no scans...nothing. Other patients were shocked to see us waiting. I will never go back to the ER. I delivered here 2 years ago and it was a good experience but this last visit was terrible. There were other children who waited for ridiculous amounts of time while staff laughed and had person conversations. They were friendly and helpful but I urge management to look into their process for young children in the ER!!

Went in the other day for an eye related injury. Few patients waiting. I was registered within a timely manner. The intake girls were so super sweet (even to my child I had to bring along). Got sent to see and treat pretty quickly. The staff over there was also really super nice (wish I remembered the one nurses name because he was amazing had the best bed side manner). The Drs that assessed me we’re super awesome and weren’t rude or mean that my child wanted to see what happened and they explained to her what they were doing to my eye. There was even an incident in the waiting room the security staff handle really well. All these comments about having to wait forever and people’s attitude don’t really understand the short staffing issues is nothing they can control the staff here do their best with people coming in thinking their issue is way more important than someone else’s and forget they’re being triaged based on priority and constantly being mistreated by patients . There was one nurse there who seems to always have a poor attitude no matter what but who’s to say she doesn’t love nursing but is frustrated she can’t fix the system either!

I brought my 6 year old daughter tonight. Nurse Walker triaged her quickly, taking her vitals, and she was seen by Dr. Bush almost immediately. After chest X-rays, and a diagnosis of pneumonia, she was administered the first dose, and we were discharged with a prescription. All of the staff were incredibly friendly, caring and helpful. Thank you for the 5 star experience tonight BGH :)

I fainted at work yesterday and fell into a filing cabinet head first. When I came to, my glasses were all bent, my neck was very sore, and one of my fingers was hurting and bruised. Went to BGH to be checked over, andEmergency was pretty full, but the staff there, the nurses, the technicians, Doctor Tony, and anyone else I encountered were all amazing!!I just want to say a big Thank You!! I know wait times can be a bit, but they thoroughly checked me over and I did get an all clear, which I was so thankful for.

I came in a week ago only to get a cancer diagnosis. Yesterday I came for an outpatient x-ray and have received the best care to date. I'm waiting for a transfer to juravinski today but I want to say thanks to the staff in zone 2 and in the fast track area. Dr. Bates & my nurse Jessica were great. Thanks for looking after my best health interests. Micheline PiperMicheline Piper

I recently spent seven weeks recovering from a stroke and heart surgery, including complications from infection in my back and hips. The staff doctor's, nurses, psw, and cleaners were all so positive and helpful in my recovery. The physiotherapy department got me up and moving . Thank God for everyone of you. I still have a long road ahead, but I am on track to recovery. Thanks to you all and your hard work. Thanks again, Rob Kane.

I gave birth to my son here 3 months ago and I can honestly say it was the best AND worst experience of my life. I am 33 years old and had never been a patient at a hospital before, so the entire experience was terrifying and new to me. From the very beginning of my induction process, to having to have an emergency caesarean section, the doctors and nurses (especially the nurses) really made me feel as comfortable as possible throughout. I honestly can’t say enough about the staff. Not only were they helpful, but they were also so positive, kind, patient and reassuring. I can only imagine how many new parents, just like us, they encounter everyday, yet they made us feel like we were the only ones. Thank you for everything you do!
