Don't know where I'd be if I wasn't able to access their free drop-in counseling. The student counselor I got was stellar. She helped me so much. I felt much better and less urgent when I left versus when I came in. The front desk person was very kind and welcoming. Highly recommend this place. They also offer classes and other resources, check them out!!

So disappointed on how they couldn’t bill directly to my insurance. I literally live paycheck to paycheck & can barely pay my bills. These guys think I have a spare $180 to put on my credit for the appointment just to have to wait to get it back from insurance. So sad that money prevents someone’s from getting help.I’m going to add that I tried to access the subsidy but was told I had to use up all of my insurance before they could even consider giving me a lower rate. Then they all of a sudden they can bill to blue cross. The miscommunication in this office tells me I won’t receive they help I need from here as I need someone with good communication skills

Such a terrible experience. An email was sent telling me my appointment was coming up, but no link was sent at all. I had to wait another 2 weeks for rebooking and the same thing happened. The app they use is NOT android friendly. I called the reception and all I got was I'm sorry your having trouble". Ill happy to take my business elsewhere

I had originally really loved this place and referred multiple people here to get therapy. My first round of session were incredible. My second round was awful. I had set up my first session with Caitlyn and she didn't call during my scheduled appointment time. I had to call and ask what what going on and the receptionist said she didn't know. I had asked for a new therapist at this point because I don't appreciate my time being wasted. I had specifically set therapy before Christmas because I need it and had the appointment set up for awhile. I still have yet to receive a call back from intake to set up a new session. When I initially made the request for the session they called me back within the hour. You'd think they'd be more diligent with their staff considering the therapist no showed.

I have been dealing with the Family Centre for a few months now.I make calls to the centre and the receptionist has been extremely rude. I don't know how they keep someone on with such poor communication skills.I have had to deal with a Taylor Formanek because of a family matter. She doesn't return calls or even answer my calls period. She is incompetent with taking care of matters in a prompt manner.I am supposed to be paid by the Family Centre for services rendered but how do you get paid when she chooses not to speak to me.I am so sick of having to deal with her!I'll be glad when she is out of the picture!

I had an incredibly poor experience with the family centre. My therapist had left the clinic without warning or explanation from the family centre after months of building a rapport. It took 3 phone calls to be transferred to the appropriate receptionist to find out why my appointment had been canceled. The way this situation was handled was inappropriate, unprofessional and incredibly distressing for someone who struggles with mental illness. In addition to this, they have yet to return the $180 I pre-paid for my canceled session. I would not recommend this place to anyone and will be taking my business elsewhere.

My personal experience was not great. It’s not really the person who was doing my assessments fault. I feel there could be some improvements on their intake forms.Perhaps adding a section for previously diagnosed psychiatric conditions so that proper matches can be made. Also having an expectation for a client to resolve their issues they are facing in one session in my opinion can be extremely damaging. On a positive note I was able to book an appointment within a day of calling. If you are in need of some quick tips and feel you have the ability to direct the meeting this is the place for you.If not Rachel Hollis or Gabrielle Bernstein can probably be a more efficient use of your time.

Had a great experience here. Receptionist is pleasant, minors are able to see a councillor without parent consent. The councillor I had was very kind and patient. As they are students in training, there is a quick form at the end of session for you to evaluate how the session was. Definitely recommend.

The Family Centre has helped me grow, learn and understand so many new things about myself. They staff there is amazing. I have done individual and couples therapy here and they sessions and the help the intern therapists provide is amazing. I also appreciate the affordable rates because without it, many of us that are struggling wouldn't be able to get the help that we need. I especially want to thank the kind receptionist (I didn't get her name) who works days on Mondays. I always speak to her whenever I want to book my appointment and I just want to say she has been such a big help and so kind whenever I need to book or cancel my appointments. She goes out of her way to make sure the timings work and explains everything so kindly. You're the first person that people who want to get therapy talk to and I want to tell you that you are making a great impact. Thank you for being so kind. Thank you, thank you, thank you! I will continue to recommend The Family Centre to all my friends and family.

I really utilized their counselling services for my 15 year old at the the beginning of this year for about 4 months, it was a great service and I recommended others all the time. The counsellor we were seeing moved and instead of being transferred to a new one or told what we had to do, I was transferred to Jillian because she was who I had to talk to, to see if we could just be transferred to a new counsellor instead of being put back on the waiting list. Since April have been leaving weekly messages at first but now 1 or 2 a month trying to get a phone call back so I can actually continue services. My teenager NEEDS a counsellor because her behaviors are getting worse not better and its SO frustrating to be told to have to talk to one person but it takes 8 months to get a a return call back from that person and at this point I still haven't even gotten through and now have to go through the whole process from the beginning. It's tragic that a service meant to help families (and did at one point) is falling short so bad. I guess it's time to go somewhere else.
