Kaisar Guest House
Clean and affordable. Parking available for extra cost.Room 10 horrible experience too much noise around barely any sleep until 2am and had to complain.Safe affordable but don't take room 10. I had to force my self to wake up early and leave because of no sleep.Good neighbors, it's a guest house, don't guest expect anything fancy. For the price, you should be able to sleep without issue. Beside that I have no other concern.(Change the battery on the wall clock, a tv would be nice).

Thanks with the strict smoking policy I'm glad my room doesn't smell like Kensington market. If you are a smoker then this isn't the place for you.

Stayed here for a budget friendly option.Pros: It's a central area, lots of restaurants, bars and easy access to public transit. My room was clean and the locks and cameras getting into the Kaisar Guest House were reassuring.Cons: I felt a little uneasy walking down the street alone and I didn't want to experience it at night so I went back to my room before the sun went down. If you want to pay for your room by credit card there's a 5% processing fee. They don't have any parking options and the lots nearby are expensive. When you check-in they say quiet time is after 10pm or 11pm (I can't remember) but I definitely heard lots of noise throughout the night through the paper thin walls. I'm pretty sure I was woken up by someone coming or going every 2-3 hours, so if you're a light sleeper I'd look elsewhere.I booked the 1-person room with a private bathroom and they gave me room #10. It's the first door everyone passes to go to any of the other rooms and it's also across the kitchen so I heard everything. People walking to their upstairs rooms, people talking in the kitchen.I thought paying less would give me peace of mind but I won't be going this cheap again. I'd rather spend a bit more for better parking, noise, and comfort walking around.

Kaisar you are horrible. I gave you $1600 in total to stay here and i will never forget the cockroaches I seen on the kitchen walls and the one that flew at my face at night. You will not reply to this review because you know it's true. I am not ashamed to put my real name on this review. You should be ashamed! Selfish little man! And your communication is horrible! SHAME ON YOU!

(Room 1)Pros: Close to downtown with a security gate, clean enough, good price.Cons: Thin walls and near to clubs/bars which pump music late. No windows, so the room got a bit stuffy. Hot water took quite a bit to warm up in the shower. Shoe bin in the entry hallway is quite a ways from some of the rooms, so you’ll be walking around in socks/complementary slippers. Across the street from a homeless camp.If you’re only planning on using this as a place to sleep, and you’re not a light sleeper its a good value option. Just keep your expectations low, its a bargain for a reason.

I've stayed at Kaiser's well over two dozen times over the years and I almost resisted posting a review because I consider it a hidden gem. This place is clean, well staffed and a steal. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend Kaiser's to my mom. My mom is obsessively clean. If you also want a affordable secret hideaway in the heart of Toronto, book now. If you are dissatisfied I'd be astounded.

I usually stay in more formal and fancy hotels, but booked my flight to Toronto without first checking lodging prices. Because of pride weekend, hotel prices were through the roof. So I looked around for more affordable options and found Kaisar Guest House. I read some reviews, and wasn't sure at first, but decided to give it a go.Upon arrival there was a long line of people waiting for food from a food bank on the same block, and a homeless tent encampment across the street. This made me a little uneasy at first, but people have got to eat! No one in the line or in the encampment across the street said anything to me my whole visit. Everyone was just going about their day.Check in was easy. You take your shoes off upon entering and put them in a basket with your room number on it. And the girl working the front desk was very nice, although her English was limited. I arrived before 10am, so my room understandably was not ready. So I dropped off my bags and went about exploring Toronto.Upon return later in the day I was given the key to room 1 and my bags. Room 1 was fine. Seemed clean, which was my #1 concern. The room did not have a window, which was a bit weird, but it worked out great for my budget travel adventure. The shower and bathroom were small, but clean. Nothing fancy but did the job. The communcal kitchen was nice enough. Again, not fancy but had what it needed to have. I didn't use the laundry facilities, but they were there and looked completely fine.On the last day I checked out without any issues, but then found out my flight got cancelled. I asked if they had a room for the night, and was checked back into room 1 where I stayed previously.Overall my stay was enjoyable. This is clearly a no frills property, but it is clean, the staff is nice, and the location is great. Generally speaking I like to stay in places that are a bit more refined, but I really didn't have any issues while staying at Kaisar. The issues raised in some other people's reviews seem unfounded. Great bang for the buck!

We came to Toronto for the weekend and this air bnb was in a very good location for us. We paid $130/ night + fees for this place so we thought it would be pretty decent but it was the complete opposite.First impression you have to talk into this intercom where I could barely hear the host I had to ask him to repeat what he was saying many times because I couldn’t understand anything. He then came to the door and walking through the hall gave very haunted house vibes. It also smelled really strange. When we were brought to the room the rug that was in the middle was still very dirty. The walls are full with scratches and random marks. Furniture was very old and scratched up. I held the towels up against the light and there was a lot of yellow stains on it. Overall was very grossed out about it.We were given 3 different keys. He told us that the guest house door locks after 9 and that we’ll have to use the key to get in. We came back to the air bnb very late and we spent about 10 minutes trying to open the door because it wouldn’t unlock. I tried calling the owner but it went straight to voicemail but understandable because it was very late at night. After nudging the key many times we finally got the door open. Once we got into the room the door to our room wouldn’t close and I had to use a lot of force just to close the door. This was overall very frustrating experience and coming back very tired wasn’t helping either. As for communication with the host he would not give any follow up messages. When we were having trouble with the key the one night I messaged him saying that our key wasn’t working there was no follow up message asking if we got it to work or anything.I’ve stayed at another Airbnbs in Toronto and had a way better experience. Unfortunately those places were either fully booked or unavailable. Definitely would not be staying here again. If you’re able to spend a little more money you could probably get a nicer Airbnb than this one.

I stayed here for three days and it went very smoothly. The room was nice and the location was ideal for me.
