Took my old hurqvarna Special 45 chainsaw in for repair. They said it needed a total rebuild to the tune of $350+. I refused the repair and took back the pieces since they were going to charge to reassemble. I took the pieces to another engine repair place who reassembled it and diagnosed the problem as a rotten fuel line, dirty carb and for $70 it' running like new. I can only guess that Ottawa Faster was more interested in selling me a new one and wasn't ashamed to lie in order to do so. It's easy to say no if you're not interested in the work.

I’ve been to the Bells Corner store twice in the last two weeks for tool repair drop-off and pick-up. Both times the computer system was down so service was slow. The second time it was clear they let contractors jump the queue so if your not a big name customer be prepared to wait…a lot. Not impressed given the tools I’ve bought over the years. Was planning on making another tool purchase but will now go somewhere else.

I've been to this establishment several times to get my tools serviced. Very fast, efficient and knowledgeable staff and super friendly. As a contractor, my tools are my livelihood and they always get me up and running ASAP. Five star service for sure.

Craig Wilson who manages the Hawthorne branch has turned a bad situation caused by a prolonged computer failure (it happens) into a positive for the customer - myself. He was sympathetic to my plight and made up for the inconvenience by delivering the product to my home out of town for no charge. Outstanding customer service!

Community needs more businesses like this. Staff is extremely helpful and go out of their way to provide knowledge and assistance. I was in this week looking for a tiny screw to repair a ski boot and the employee came up to me right away, found the proper screw and even got out a screwdriver to install the screw into the boot. The cashier was also very pleasant and offered lollipops to my kids.Such a great experience. Highly recommend this store that provides a critical service to actually be able to fix things instead of throwing them out and having to buy new.
