Thanks to Pat in the Kingston office for all her help. I was behind on my rent and credit cards and was even sent an eviction notice. Within a few days I had a proposal filed that stopped the eviction and brought all of my debts into a single monthly payment. If all goes well I can even finish the proposal ahead of schedule.

I ultimately decided to file for bankruptcy and while it was a difficult decision I still have no regrets and the process went exactly as expected based on what was explained to me. I called Brief & Associates with what I thought was a hopeless situation. I had quite a lot of equity in my home but I was struggling with my load of credit card debt. Ron explained an option for a proposal that would stop the interest on my credit cards and allow me to pay them back in full with one monthly payment made over a period of time. Ron was so honest as he encouraged me to look at all possible alternatives first, and even gave me some specific options to consider. Ultimately, I went with the proposal option which allowed me to avoid selling my house.

It was very hard to know who to contact for help with my credit cards as the internet is filled with so many options. Brief & Associates are licensed by the government so I felt more comfortable when I called for the first time. The Kingston team that handled my consumer proposal file were professional and patient and I really felt comfortable that I was making the right decision when I filed my proposal.
