Calgary North Alberta Supports Centre

Another disgusting government department of privileged unaccountable employees work here. All are rude and condescending and should be fired. All government departments need to be closed and disbanded and private businesses operating in place so that persons that need to be fired immediately will be. These workers all need to be reported so that something gets done. They only help the immigrants and native people in Alberta. Even the Alberta Labour minister is an immigrant to Canada.

Some of the workers here are so rude and condescending that it is actually comical. They cut you off mid sentence because they assume they can read your mind and don't listen to the entire issue before saying they will reconnect or barking orders. I have been given the run around and have had to call numerous times about the same issues because the people answering the phones are incapable of listening. It is understandable that they probably deal with some pretty rude clients as well but there is no need for them to be as arrogant and have such a know it all attitude. Lots of places deal with the public, no other profession would get away using the tone and manners that some of these workers have. Seeking help is hard enough without being talked down to as though you are below the people who are just there to answer phones.

They hire people who treat you terribly. They want you to be kind and respectful while they are not. They talk down to you. They do NOT care about you or your family at all. They need to fire everyone and hire people who genuinely went into this field of work with the values and morals of knowing they are there to HELP and not be rude or unkind.

I find the secretaries and workers are not welcoming in the slightest. I had just called them to make an appointment and unlike the other times I've called them, I wasnt able to make an appointment nor was I able to choose the worker that I gave my forms to when I first came in. I wasnt even really able to make an appointment with anyone. I asked for my workers number and the woman I was chatting with had so much attitude when she gave me her number. So much so I panicked and forgot the number and didnt bother to ask the woman again for it. I am still panicking from the moment because I have a lot aloft problems right now that can be helped with financial assistance. This could be my fault in being unprepared and overly sensitive but this also wouldnt have happened if these people would show some freaking professionalism. I might just go get a job and deal with the anxiety if this is how they make their customers feel. I ended up having a terrible panic attack the first time I was there and I've only been there two times. If you have anxiety and are known to be overly sensitive, DO NOT COME HERE UNLESS YOU CAN DEAL WITH THE ANNOYED SIGHS OF THE SECRETARIES. ALREADY SUFFERED TWO PANIC ATTACKS. FIX YOUR ANXIETY WHEN YOU COME IN.

Social workers very rude and unprofessional. The worker for job replacement, the first time she called me, she told me my benefits for April is on hold, just one week after I was approved, rude and unprofessional, her name is Payal Verma. She thinks is easy to find job, and they forget that the reason they have these jobs is because of people like me, otherwise she wouldn't have job. Even after I told her that I have disability I can't get any type of job. Contacting my MLA.

Disturbing how these social workers" get away with treating people like they do. I was taken off work by my doctor end of last year due to failing health. My medical EI ran out soo I applied for Income Support. I was talked down to by the worker he was aggressive rude and condescending. I told him I was forced to move back in with my parents and he twisted my words into saying "your parents give you money soo why are you applying for support?" I asked to deal with a different worker and called him out on his attitude. He announced he would close my file and promptly hung up. I called again to get a new worker and she wasn't much better. Only offered me 1 month of support and said I would need to reapply again if I wanted anymore support. Both workers sent me different documents to fill out and gave me different information on what was required for the program. Ive worked in customer service for many years and if I talked to someone at work they way these people talked to me id lose my job. Shameful Alberta "supports"."

The workers/receptionist are quite rude here. I called to find out some information and the lady kept cutting me off before i could finish my sentences, and before i could say anything she hung up. absolutely horrible. Everyone in the alberta works section as well are ignorant and do not care for you as they should be. Quit putting people down and help them!

Not helpful at all. 21 days waiting for a call back. They will judge you on your debit transactions.. they will tell you to try the food bank or churches for handouts. You have to have absolutely nothing before trying to assist. Honestly, if my family doesn't need help than no body does. My rent is 65% of my income. My enmax bill is the other 35%. This is not living. it's barely even existing. Programs like these are here to help the less fortunate. If you aren't giving help to those in need why does this even exist? What an absolute let down. This program needs to be thoroughly investigated by the Alberta government. You have people who are on the verge of collapse and they WILL NOT HELP.

I honestly wish you could give them zero stars! Very rude social workers. Always late on providing income. Called and spoke to 4 other people to get a question answered. Only a couple of them are actually decent human beings the others are pure garbage!

Worst thing ever. Talked down to by worker and her Superviosr, and was told by the worker that I wasn’t trying hard enough for looking for work when in that month alone I had put in 85 applications. Was also told that I was never going to be good enough by the same worker and when asked for a new caseworker I was told that it’s not aloud. And when I called them out on that and it was possible they hung up on me. Finally took it to the MLA and got somewhere but not far.
