Vancity

Many thanks to Joana Nobre in vancity west 4th avenue.Recently at advice of one staff I have a saving account in this branch. Though I told him I need these found often he told me this account is same as Chequing account. Until today Joana Nobre kindly told me I was charged for $5 for each transfer. I was surprised why nobody told me about this.I gave 5 Stare to Joana! Thank you very much Joana for your excellent service.

I just opened an account at Vancity and I am very happy with the service I have received from Farid, he has been very helpful in answering all my questions and getting me set up. I am really happy I joined Vancity, great customer service!

Josie Young is a real Gem. I look forward to dumping more money into VanCity just to see Josie again!! A1 service every time!!

Went to the recently moved Vancity now at 2360 West 4th. Very disappointed there is only one ATM and it still requires envelopes when accepting checks. Come on Vancity, get with the times.

Someone need to teach Vancity how to stop pre authorized transactions!!! I had a loan with Vancity which I payed it off couple month ago, but Vancity still keep taking money from my other bank account and deposits it into Vancity account!! I called Vancity 2 times and discussed the issue, went to one of the branches and asked to stop it in person, even asked my other bank to email Vancity asking to stop it!!! No luck yet! Other than that, I could give a 5 star

I would like share some personal experiences about this branch. First, staffs are courteous, professional, and always have smile on their face. I thought I wasn’t able to cash out my cheque because my first name was wrong the cheque, but the branch manager Janette Hunter verified my identity and ordered Joanna Nobre to issue a bank draft for me. I also want to shout - out to Noah because he directed me to a right person at the first place. Second, the branch has a tiny play area which is kids friendly. Last thing I would like to mentioned is the branch is clean, tidy and welcoming. I strongly recommend this branch to anyone that is looking for a comfortable, welcoming and secure banking.

I often go to this branch to get laundry money, rolls of quarters specifically. Today the woman at the counter said they didn’t do that for non-members and wouldn’t help me. She said it’s their policy and kept saying I’m not sure who did this for you before. Well, every other person I’ve ever seen at this branch, that’s who! She was short with me and rude. I asked her if she could ask someone else as it’s never been a problem before. Reluctantly she did and huffed and puffed about doing it this time only. Needless to say I won’t be back. I have always found vancity friendly before but this woman left a really sour taste in my mouth. Do better next time.

Have been banking here since 2005. Very few/no banking charges, especially for 55+. And your money is invested in our community. Want to pay exorbitant fees and suffer endless sales pressure by employees desperate to meet sales targets? Then go to the BIG banks. If you want to be part of a grassroots movement by, of & for the local community, then try VanCity. It may be a tad slow at times, perhaps because when you are dealing with an employee, they take the time to serve you in a caring, human manner. Well worth considering...

Best bank ever. Customer support is amazing. I have been with Vancity for over 30 years and would never ever go back to a trad Canadian bank such as RBC or BMO.

The male teller at the front of the bank needs to serve the people in line before serving people who just walk through the door. Need to look at retraining your people in customer service!
