Horizon Martial Arts

My wife and I started attending Horizon Martial Arts kickboxing class when it first opened. We have been active members ever since. When we had our kids we enrolled them in karate. It was then that I decided to take the leap and try my hand at karate. While karate was not for our daughter, she attends kickboxing with her mother. Our son continues to flourish in karate. I have enjoyed the challenge of learning karate and getting a great workout. What we like is that Sensei Mark empathizes fundamentals, discipline, and respect, while making it fun at the same time. That is a true talent of Sensei that not many people have. This is the one of many reasons our whole family has been enjoying Horizon Martial Arts for 15 years.

I have been going to Horizon with my teenage daughter since 2013. Mark is an awesome Sensei! He has a real passion for teaching and tailors each technique to match peoples abilities. Both my daughter and I have picked up the basic skills quickly and are moving on to more advanced combinations. Check out Megan's classes on Saturday too! It's a great cardio/kickboxing workout with a 20 minute stretch at the end

I left my original dojo, and found one closer to my new home when I moved. This is an excellent facility where all the teachers and instructors care about the students and the teaching of marital arts. While the Karate portion focuses mainly on Kempo, other forms of self defence such as BJJ, boxing, weapons, and thai boxing are also taught, providing a rich learning experience. Other exercise classes are taught out of here which all provide a great work out. I have trained at this dojo for almost 10 years and it is the best around.

Horizon Martial Arts is one of the best places to learn good karate and to get an overall great workout. I have been going there for the past 11 years and I love it. The overall atmosphere there is so positive and uplifting. You get to know everyone so well they feel like family, and walking in there feels like home. You gain so much confidence and feel so much better after every session. Overall going to Horizon Martial Arts was one of the BEST decisions of my life. Speaking personally I have gained so much confidence in myself, made so many close relationships to others, have been in a lot better health and overall has given me a more positive attitude to life. For anyone who is looking for a place to learn karate, become more healthy or any other reason, Horizon Martial Arts is the place for you. Learning Discipline, Focus, Strength and so many other traits, Horizon will help you with having a better attitude to life. For anyone who might be shy to try this or may seem unsure to visit here do not be afraid to take a chance and get to know the place.

Both my sons have trained in Kempo Karate with Sensi Mark for years and both have become accomplished black belts. They continue with the training today because of Sensi Mark. I myself train at Horizon Maritial Arts but am involved with the kickboxing. I love it. The instructors are knowledgable, friendly but strict when necessary. He provides a friendly environment but trains his pupils to respect, to honour and to be disciplined. Highly recommend this Dojo.

I took Karate at Horizon from the time I was 5 until being just under 20 and off to University - and had an absolutely amazing time. The owners, Mark and Megan, take great care to ensure lessons are always insightful, the dojo is always clean & with updated equipment, and that everyone is having a safe & amazing time! Two of my sons trained with Sensei Mark from the ages of 6 and 3 until they got their black belts. My third son is on his way to a black belt. Mark has been an exceptional mentor and role model for our kids. He pushes the kids to become the best they can while still being a cool guy that the kids admire, respect and know they can depend on. And his classes are fun! I would recommend his studio without reservation.

Sensei Mark is second to none. I started kickboxing with him in 2011 and loved it so much, decided to embark on the journey to a karate black belt. It's been almost five years in the adult karate class and it's not just a club, it's a family here. If I could award 10 stars, I absolutely would. Amazing teacher who's passion for martial arts shines thorough.
